Sonce you got sales it seems solo ads are a good traffic source for you.
I'd stick with it for the time being!
Test out different things, optimize for conversion and try maximising your ROI.

You'll learn a lot about using solo ads in due course.

I personally like to stick with one kind of traffic if it showed promises of working well and getting my campaigns optimized for that traffic source.
Once I feel very familiar with one traffic source I start getting into a different one.

I agreee with Rritz, Stick with one form of advertising until you are profitable. Test and measure each individual part of the advertising process down to landing page, emails etc. Everything you use. Keep doing it until you can see your ROI improve. Sounds like you have some positive feedback already so I would keep tweeking it until it improves and scale up then. Then look at other forms of advertising once you have made it work with solos.

If you have sales, keep at it. There is no point in moving to a new traffic source unless you've tapped your current one out or are looking to expand even more (using soloads plus a new traffic source).

If you are not familiar with it, it is simply data that the users have provided permission to receive messages from third parties. So it is 100% can-spam compliant.

Data that is readily available is geared more heavily toward lead generation verticals (niches). Which is mainly what I promote since it is far easier to get someone to fill out a short form to receive free information than it is to get them to take out their credit card and make a purchase. However, there are other niches outside of lead generation.

However, you can easily get good pay lead generation offers($20-$40+ per lead) from CPA networks, that it can be hard to justify sending offers that require a sale to be made unless it a high converting offer.

Some of the verticals I have done extremely well with are: insurance, education, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, debt, loans, homeowner offers, etc...

The data is rarely as responsive as building your own highly targeted opt-in list, but this is not an issue. Because the data is much much cheaper and highly scalable compared to building your own lists. Plus it is even possible to get rev-share data, which is data that you get for $0 upfront cost and then you split the revenue generated from sending it, with the data provider.

It's all about testing the data and sending relevant offers. If I'm getting data that is for auto insurance, I then send an auto insurance offer. If I'm getting data for education, then I send an education offer, etc, etc...

Also, the long-term profits of the business aren't about the initial data that you acquire. You will want to segment the users that click and open messages and remove the unresponsive users. This way over time you will be building smaller, but more responsive list that eventually you should be able to send less and make more with each mailing. Basically, you are converting the initial data from quantity to quality. Which I then cross promote other offers to the lists to further monetize them.

There is obviously much more that goes into it, but it really does work. Everyone that I know that is in the business (data monetization) and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes down to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

It's not for eveyone, but something to think about.

Facebook ads, Bing ads, google ads. In my opinion, Solo ads is one of the best targeted traffic around.

I have never liked the concept of Solo ads since the term came into existence. I feel pity on publishers who buy the same amount of subscribers everytime.
