Anyone notice this about facebook ads?
But then I noticed something. Before i put in any targeting whatsoever, facebook 'estimated' that i would see 3-25 conversions a day (optimizing for purchases on shopify store). It said if I just blast my ad to the entire united states without targeting for $5 a day I'd get 3-25 conversions
what's the deal with that? I doubt it's accurate, so why is it telling me that? As soon as i start putting in my targeting, the conversion estimate disappears. Then, when i have my targeting set up, it takes like a $500 per day budget for fb to tell me i might do 3-25 conversions
if this is due to the pixel being brand spanking new, how does it make sense for a complete non-targeted ad to be predicted 3-25 conversions but a targeted ad 0 conversions?
the point
i heard of people experimenting with zero-targeting ads, but I figure you need to train your pixel with at least some information before letting it go wild
could it be possible to start a fresh ad account with a fresh pixel that has 0 information about potential customers and just let it go and learn? maybe it'd be expensive and take awhile, but potentially more effective since it's much smarter than us
Either way,
A.) why does fb tell me a non targeted ad gonna do 3-25 conversions a day
B.) anyone try non-targeted ads?
