I think the experts will tell you to sign up for as many as you can. Peoples' experiences may not be the same even with the same network.

Seems about right. More important is how good the particular affiliate manager is.

I just got off the phone with Hydra and they said I will get an email about whether I was approved or not within 24 hours. Is that normal for Hydra? Anyone else have it done this way or were you approved over the phone? Other CPA Networks approved me on the phone.

When I called them, they said exactly the same thing to me..
Unfortunatelly I wasn't approved at the moment, didn't understand why, I hope you are luckier than I am..

That's what happened when I signed up for Hydra... I signed called them in the early evening and got an email the next day.

I got approved. Shouldn't be a big deal.

      Good Luck...

I waited until I got a phone call, but if I had to do it again I would call them first.

I called Hydra as soon as I got their email.

It took about 5 days before I got a phone call from Neverblue. I got a message and called them back.

It always looks better if you take the initative to call them first.

      Good Luck...

I'm with Neverblue, Clickbooth, Affiliates.com and RevResponse and all of these are good.

However, I agree that what is really important is the relationship you can build with your Account Manager from each network.

  • Two warriors giving a thumbs up to clickbooth.. so that puts them on my radar. Thanks to your input, I'll check them out and throw them into my marketing mix. Multiple companies means I'm not solely reliant on any one company.

The thing I most love about CPA and affiliate sales is that I get to open them in a new window on my site.

I wonder if Adwords/Adsense would grow or retract if they offered new browser windows on adsense. I think I'll start a thread on that as it has almost made me abandon adsense at times in favour of CPA programs

You're going to want to sign up with a few, if not as many as you can. Some companies pay faster but have lower payouts, some pay slower but with higher payouts, etc. Each one has an advantage and disadvantage. Although, be on the lookout for sketchy companies.

I ended up getting approved by every single CPA Network I applied to. Hydra, NeverBlue, Azoogle, Max Bounty, Rocket Profit, Dark Blue, Affiliate.com, Affiliate Fuel, and a couple others. I'm 10 for 10. Its not hard. Just be confident in what you are saying. Speak up. Don't hesitate. Know your strategies, know what you will say to how you promote, and let them know you are interested in promoting any good offers.

That's some good advice, trafficguru, and I agree with you 1000%! Attitude and confidence are the most important things when dealing with Affiliate Managers (and probably when dealing with anybody... but I digress)!

I would also emphasize that telling them how it's going to be in their own best interest to approve you does not hurt. Let them know you're going to send them lots of quality traffic, via PPC or whatever method you specialize in. That worked really well for me.

I'm not "in" as many networks as trafficguru (yet), but I am batting six for six and don't anticipate problems with other networks should I decide to join them.

Best of luck to you all!

I've been told the best method for getting in is after you submit your app online pick up the phone and call them to speak with an AM. Tell them you're an IM who wants to drive high quality traffic to their offers via PPC.
