I just finished reading Affiliate Payload by Saj P. and Alex Goad and I couldn't recommend it more. It's about 280 pages but it provides a step-by-step guide to getting into the CPA business. The link is Affiliate Payload : Countdown Initiated! (not an affiliate link).

I disagree that even though you can get huge money using black hat , you can also make a killing using white hat techniques such as PPC .

Most Black hat techniques work for only short period of time .

So , I usually avoid black hat and concentrate on techniques that give me long term success.

check out all forums that relate: warrior, **********, ewealth, sitepoint, geektalk, 5star, abestweb - read as much as you can. Using legit SEM, PPC, works and if done right can make you a ton of $$.

There are tons of forums, endless ebooks, lots of gurus and others
to attain knowledge from but the best way to get into the CPA
business is to learn by doing/on the job training. Register with the
major aff networks, do your research and start promoting offers.
Ask your AM for guidance but don't be lazy and use your own
initiative to learn as much as you can about your business.

It seems to me that the key to successful cpa marketing, or any marketing on the net in general, is to test and tweak using PPC, find a formula that works, then bomb away using free traffic techniques. There are no short cuts or easy answers. It is difficult to make a killing using paid methods but the paid methods methods create the foundation for everything else.

I agree , as PPC , specially Google adwords is the featest way in generating traffic - it is suitable for testing .

As has been noted earlier , you can scale your results with other traffic generating sources .

Imran Naseem is the best for that. He also has a 100 page guide as well dedicated to blackhat (not illegal) tactics. He takes you byt the hand and assumes that you have NO experience and tells you exactly how to pick a network, get accepted and goes into detail about which offers yield the best payouts.

  I also want to add with regards to getting approved, sometimes you need to go back in and question it.
  
  I have been initially turned down three times and each time I basically pointed out how they will lose my traffic to the other networks that already approved me and as I grow my business I will not re-entertain any network that turned me down. In all cases I received the approval within five minutes.
  
  To help your chances during the initial application process, I suggest you set up a professional website for your CPA business. You want to look like a business. Also, it helps to set up a campaign of some sorts using ads you can find from anywhere (Affiliate networks generally accept everyone). And indicate that you are in the process of setting up a number of web properties.

  FYI, If I wanted a CPA coach I'd try PPC-Coach. You can start with him immediately and he seems to always be available to answer questions (and not just questions asked by his students either -- he's answered PM's of mine very quickly and I'm not a student, or affiliate, and I never have been).
  
  I've even seen claims that some students of PPC-Coach are earning 5 figures (as in $10k plus) daily.

  Please note that I do not offer any sort of get rich quick scheme and the members doing those amounts are very hard workers, very persistent and very focused. Not everyone will be able to achieve those numbers. I do think that anyone can achieve a good fraction of those results if they just stick with it and don't give up though!

Hey everyone's entitled to their opinion. I stand by my list as it's what I know, what I do and what I have trained over 1,500 people in. Owning my network for the past 8 months, I have seen a lot of techniques for free traffic to cpa offers, but I don't know enough about them to claim they're the best way. I like buying my traffic, it's my style, it's the best way I know how to do it. So I'm biased towards my list of best ways and I'm sure Luke is biased towards his, (as he stated above).

No worries though, there's lots of room for everyone and not every technique or traffic source or method will be liked by everyone.

If you're looking to learn about CPA, do your homework in forums like this and the many others out there. Once you are ready, join some of the top CPA networks out there and you should be assigned an affiliate manager. They will be able to help you pick and choose which offers to run and even point you in the right direction to some helpful sites. Good luck!

Absolutely. BS'ing will only get you so far. But confidence goes a long way. The people making these decisions can never really tell who is going to be a player and who's not. Believe you will be successful and announce it.
