Lead Impact vs. Traffic Vance

If I know right Leadimpact serves popup ads and Traffic Vance serves popunders.

If I had to choose I'd decide to go with popups instead of popunders. Why? Here is my reason: if I target a weight loss product with Leadimpact then the potential customer may buy my product instead of the products on the trigger site because he see my landing page first and engages with it. In the other case, when I would promote the same with Traffic Vance, that potential customer would see the trigger site first and engage with that, buy the product and then visit my site, he wont be interested as he just bough a similar product a minute ago. Am I Right? Or do I see something wrong about it?

I'm asking those people who used both, which one converted better for you? I do pretty well with Leadimpact but I want to scale up my campaigns.

The best thing you can do is test them both. Although they are both PPV traffic networks, they have different ways of serving their ads, their audiences will also differ slightly in terms of demographics and the traffic reach is not the same.

For instance, a campaign that's running great on LeadImpact won't necessarily have the same success on Trafficvance and vice versa due to some of the factors above, along with the level competition etc.

I'm involved with both networks and and both have their strengths and weaknesses depending on what I am trying to achieve from my campaigns.

    All the best,

    - Marcus

The pop-over vs. pop-under argument can come down to many factors. Let's think about a pre-sell page we might want to target. After going through material on the page, the user may or may not go on to the offer.

If you target the users with pop-overs, they're seeing your ad before they've even had a chance to be pre-sold. This could make them less likely to click on your ad, or less likely to convert even if they do.

Now suppose you target them with pop-under. Now, the users have the opportunity to get pre-sold by the trigger page. Yes, some will go on to the offer and complete it. Many more will not, but at that point, they may be on the fence. When they close the page and see your ad, it may prompt them to go ahead and convert.

In my own experience, Traffic Vance seems to give me better CTR and better conversions in general.

Both are pop ups or pop overs. Both have quality traffic. If you have the budget though, start with TV.

TrafficVance has given me better luck.

But it could just be my campaigns, LeadImpact has still been good as well.

Just start with LeadImpact and once you get things converting there, THEN reward yourself with your earnings and join TrafficVance.

    Yes, PPV is great.

The best place to invite for TrafficVance is from your Affiliate Manager.

As far as I know they both actually serve both

As always it's better to split test to find out what works best. I personally like trafficvance better but it's a higher min deposit and more difficult to join.

What is best way to track conversion on TrafficVance? I have Prosper202 but it does not give me details of which targets the conversions are coming from to help me best optimize. Or am I missing something here.

I use postback URL link and put that in the CPA network offer.

Thank you in advance for feedback

So I assume that you're getting your target URLs to show up in you reports. You just can't see the conversions showing up, correct?

For callback tracking, there are a few more steps than just pasting your callback URL into the CPA network. First, make sure you are passing the subid value in your affiliate link with the [[subid]] token. A link from Max Bounty might look like this:

        http://www.mb104.com/lnk.asp?o=1234&c=12345&a=67890&s1=

So, just add the tag to the end of the link, after the "&s1="

        http://www.mb104.com/lnk.asp?o=1234&c=12345&a=67890&s1=[[subid]]

Other networks have a slightly different format to their affiliate link, but the idea is the same.

Each click that goes through Prosper will have a subid number assigned to it. Setting up your link like this lets you pass that number into the CPA network. Now, you want to set up your callback URL so that the network can tell Prosper the number of the click when a conversion happens. You'll do that by adding the networks subid token to the end of your callback URL. In Max Bounty, the token is #S1#. So the callback URL would look like this:

        http://www.myprosper202site.com/trac...nt=&subid=#S1#

Now your conversions should show up, no problem

          Thank you Sheldon

I understand the postback URL concept, my question is how do I connect the conversion from adnetwork to prosper to affiliate network. You obviously don't want to paste the direct conversion pixel from adnetwork to affiliate network right.

So I this prosper202 video (Pixel & Post Back Tracking | Lets Get Tracking!) and this is how I understand the process, just running it by those who have experience to double check that I understood this correctly.

#1: I put the adnetwork conversion pixel to prosper traffic source pixel section under set up (I'm using image pixel for this example) Then I go to step 8 get pixel/postback URL. Click on universal smart pixel - grab the pixel code - paste this to the affiliate network tracking pixel section. So this is to track which target in adnetwork conversion is coming from to help me best optimize which targets to keep and remove

#2 Then video goes on said, postback URL is primarily used for mobile campaign?

My question is: Do you need to do both the conversion pixel from adnetwork to prosper202 to affiliate network to track where conversion is coming from as well as the postback URL (these 2 are different features from the video link above). It seems to me they do similar thing, do you need both steps 1 & 2 above or just one?

Thank you for the feedback and to clarify my confusion

            Hi Stella,

I personally don't bother with Iframing the traffic network's pixel. It's a nice feature in theory, but they're not supported in many cases. If you have things set up correctly, you'll have all the information you need within Prosper202 anyway.

            1. The universal pixel or posback URL is the correct choice for your setup, since you're running multiple offers on your landing page. Just make sure you select the correct offer before you create the code and paste it into your affiliate network.

            2. Actually what I mean to say there is that posback URLs are the only option when it comes to mobile campaigns, as mobile devices don't support pixel tracking. For standard campaigns, either choice will work. I was using pixels more often when I made that video, but I've since come to rely much more on postback URLs, as they're more reliable.

You don't need to place ad network's pixel in Prosper202 at all really. All it does is make conversion data show up in the ad network as well. Since it only works with the Iframe pixel option, and you'll need to use the universal smart pixel (or postback URL,)it won't work in your situation anyway. As for postback URLs and tracking pixels, it's a one or the other type deal. If you do both, it could cause your conversions to be counted twice.
