Hey there,

Merry Christmas (Better wishing late than never!) to you and your family!

I've been trying to install OptimizePress Latest version on my wordpress and have done SOOOOO many trials and errors in these last 2-3 days, everytimes it comes with some sort of error. Can't access their support as support is off due to Christmas.

1.) When I try to install it as a plugin from my wordpress dashboard: it gives me this error:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the plugin…

The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

Plugin install failed.

Return to Plugins page

>> Generally it's a small zip file called "OptimizePress.zip", in it there's a folder "OptimizePress" and then there are files, when I put all files directly in "OptimizePress.zip" file by removing a folder called "OptimizePress", it gave me this error:

Unpacking the package…

The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

Return to Plugins page

2.) When I try to upload it in a folder called wp-content/plugins via FTP, it doesn't show me any plugin at all.

3.) Then I tried to install it as a theme, at first it came back with this message:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Theme installed successfully.

Live Preview | Activate | Return to Themes page

I thought YAY! it's done! But NO, when I click on any option of "Live Preview | Activate | Return to Themes page" , It gives this error (After having installed a new theme either directly from dashboard or via FTP (wp-content/themes), then it starts showing this error everytime I click on any option or when I try to re login:

Warning: require_once(/home/fixeddea/public_html/MYURL.com/wso/wp-content/themes/OptimizePress/lib/admin/admin-interface.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fixeddea/public_html/MYURL.com/wso/wp-content/themes/OptimizePress/functions.php on line 78

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/fixeddea/public_html/MYURL.com/wso/wp-content/themes/OptimizePress/lib/admin/admin-interface.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/fixeddea/public_html/MYURL.com/wso/wp-content/themes/OptimizePress/functions.php on line 78

I tried to open up my functions.php file and on line 78, it's the code that reads:
require_once(OPTPRESS_ADMIN . '/admin-interface.php');

I tried to check in this directory (/OptimizePress/lib/admin/) for file called admin-interface.php but there's no file like that..

I am so worked up with this all trial and errors that I've practically become a grumpy elf!!

Have tried with two diff hostings, Hostgator VPS and Bluehost VPS, have tried with latest and one older version of wordpress but the results and errors are the same! Was reading through the net and even had tried to change the permission of file "Functions.php" and permission of folder called "wp-content" to 755 and 777 but no avail. Have talked to hostgator guys too but they couldn't help as well..

Can anyone chime in??

Than ks

I know this is an old post, but someone else may end up with this problem.

When you download Optimize Press 1.65 your antivirus reads the admin-interface.php file and thinks it's malicious code. When it does that it stops the download, even though the zip file shows up like normal. Leading to the problem of getting errors from trying to install an incomplete theme.

Just turn your antivirus off while you download and back on when the download is complete and it should install no problem.
