Hey Warriors,

After looking at several threads on CPA, I learned that its a trial and error process. So I would like to know if this can be a main source of income, and if so how many networks do you need to have?

I have read the book CPA strike and Im taking action now, I'm just wondering how long will it take to make it to my first 1k?

Thanks

If you know your ropes, it will take 1 day to earn $1k, but if you are a newbie, you need to test a lot in order to find a profitable one..Good luck

There are many aspects to CPA or PPL. Bottom line: how much internet marketing (and affiliate marketing) do you have?
CPA marketing is constantly changing so you have to constantly do research to stay up to speed.
You will need to master the following: start new websites, buy domain names, host pages and make landing pages. These skills will become important as you begin CPA marketing.
Not overwhelming if you take it step by step. But attracting traffic to your blog/website; setting up fan pages; creating youtube channel is critical.
1k is definitely not out of question. Being proficient like anything else is the key.
    Good luck!!!

Definitely lots of trial and error. Especially if you're new to business and entrepreneurship.

It took me many months to get going as an entrepreneur.

But... all the trials, frustrations and disappointments are well worth it in the end. Things start to "click" and you start seeing results, sometimes very fast, sometimes very slow, but results nonetheless.... but the key to seeing results is to stick with it. No matter what.

If you quit after try after try, you obviously won't see any results.

So yes, you can do very well, very very well with not just CPA, but with driving traffic to offers, building lists, etc.

For CPA networks, my advice is to just stick with 1, maybe 2 until you make some profit.

It's possible to go full-time ith CPA, but "how many networks" isn't the right question.

It's not about how many accounts you have with CPA networks. Actually, if you're setting direct deals you can make money without even using CPA networks.

What you have to focus on is the process that makes someone complete an offer. Not the "build an ad, then a lander, then..." process, but the psychological process, the things that you say and show that actually convince a certain type of audience to complete a certain type of offer. Once you master this, once you understand how a group of people (an audience on a traffic source) thinks when completing a specific type of offer, you will have a recipe to make money.

You will see many shiny objects out there, but at the end of the day, it's all about understanding this simple factor.

It took me few months to get profitable in CPA, but before i had many years experience with SEO and building websites. I am very passionate about this internet and marketing thats what brings me here.

But for CPA, you need to invest good money to test and become successful with a decent offer. If you really wanted to try, i would suggest picking up a dating offer and start promoting, if you become successful...Rinse and Repeat.

    Good Luck

Yes CPA can be a full time job. It is currently a full time job for several people. What you need is patience and discipline to learn. It is similar to every other endeavor. You have to learn the ropes. Once you have a hang of it, your income will be regular. Have you tried mobile CPA?

It took me $1,000 spent and 3 months of hard work before I started to make over $1,000 a month from CPA.

It take works but if you love marketing, it can be a lot of fun!

Thanks warriors for your experiences and your wisdom. I have the time now to master it if I take it step by step. I have started it 3yr ago, made little result and put it aside because I didn't like the investment upfront to start off with, I thought it was too risky at the time. After reading some of your posts, it inspires me to keep it up and pay the necessary fees. I agree it changes with the internet so I gotta keep researching and keeping my skill sharp.

Just to add I'm also doing online sales using ebay/amazon. Is anyone here doing that as well or just sticking with CPA?

It can become a full time job, but don't bank on that from the get go as your only source of income. The people who make affiliate marketing their career have put the work in through a lot of (like you mentioned) trial and error.

Many people have this as the main source of income, you don't need many networks, I'd say start with working with a handful and grow those relationships

I agree with ChrisBA. Start small, then eventually , make it bigger and bigger after a few months.

    Hey

I've been doing this for over 7 years now, made it full time after a TON of trial and error. Can you become full time? Definitely! Will it be easy? No, it will require a lot of dedication, sweat, blood and guts to keep at this. I found its not how many networks or programs you promote, its the QUALITY of the product. One product with one merchant/network is all you need to make it full time.

My first product I had when I went full time was a credit card product that was incorrectly sold by banks, building societies and high-street brokers, so people could claim their premiums and charges back ... I sold these leads to one network and made a couple thousand per month in profit. It dried out after around 2 years mostly due to legislation changes but it enabled me to become full time. Also, I then had diversified into 3 more similar products, all in the same market and the portfolio just grew and grew. Slow and steady was the way to go!

If you want to do full-time CPA, look again into the finance, debt and insurance markets. It's still my favorite industry in the CPA/CPL game as the margins are usually a lot higher than in most others

Any questions just let me know,

Most anything in IM will work if you follow accepted strategies, and CPA can be very good. If you can create web/blog pages that's a big plus.

Here's some things I have learned:

Stay focused (so much out there looks good)
    Stay focused some more
For CPA you need money to bankroll your traffic generation efforts
    Track & test!
Stick with it and be prepared to have losing offers
    Keep learning
Don't quit your day job right away :-)

Lots of people do other forms of internet marketing a long with CPA, it doesn't seem that many people I meet sell physical good (if that is what you are selling?), but there are a lot of side projects and website going on.

I've made my first 1k in profit in about 4 month AFTER I knew what I was doing. Before that I literally spent years trying all sorts of junk and garbage which never really worked the way I wanted it to. I've come a long way since then and I'm now doing this full-time ... but most of my campaigns are really just in the UK CPL finance market. This is what I know and what I'm good at. My first 1k in profit was with a product which specialized in claiming back unenforceable credit agreements like mortgages or loans which were incorrectly sold. It's not defunct and all loopholes closed, but I was hooked with that market.

But remember, it took me a good few months from starting this product to making over 1k in profit, as a campaign needs constant tweaking, scaling up and improving ... so I would say you will go through the same process but eventually you too will get to the 1k profit mark!
