Newb questions- CPA and email lists

I am brand new to affiliate marketing, and have been reading on here for hours each night trying to get a grasp of everything. I have decided i would like to promote CPA offers. Have been accepted to maxbounty and peerfly to start. Set up hosting with bluehost, and set up a domain with a generic name that goes with my niche. Also have wordpress and optimize press to build my pages.

I know email lists are essential, and would like to start one, will probably be using aweber. For this, do I need to have my own blog type website that I post information on? Can I simply put the email optin form on the landing pages that I create for my CPA offers with something along the lines of "subscribe here for weekly tips on (insert niche)"? Should I create a small squeeze page that has some tips and advice on my niche and put the optin form on that, and promote it using PPC?

Sorry for all the questions, this is all just very overwhelming trying to wrap my head around how everything ties together! Thanks!

Even though you're still new, you seem to have a decent grasp of the foundations of CPA.

    Oh and welcome to MaxBounty.

You can test both of your ideas and see what gives you better results. Creating a small squeeze page with tips like you mentioned in your second idea to promote with PPC might not be a bad idea though.

Thank you for your response! Do you believe one can still become very successful without having their own personal website? I would prefer to go this route, instead of having my own blog type website, I'm just worried how difficult it may be to create a decent email list without having an actual site. Do people make a decent income simply by funneling traffic to their landing pages and creating email lists like that?

I kinda feel that your question is pretty broad.

But to answer your question, the funnel you mentioned could work pretty well, as you're profiting not only 1 time, but multiple time.

It also depends on the offer you're promoting.

Yes, may be a tad broad, sorry. So if I do a landing page say for a health product, should I just have them submit their email to go to the actual offer page so I get it? Then I could send them weekly tips on weightloss and such, and eventually throw in other cpa offers?

If you've select your product to promote already I will say, it's time to setup everything.
Your autoresponder schedule, what offer to include in your auto responder etc.

Requesting their email before going to your lander is a must, but you can try both as the result may vary, some may buy your affiliate product without going your lander and some prefer a lander.

There's no absolute in marketing, you just need to test and test and test the find the best possible to generate the highest ROI.

You only need a simple squeeze page typically, like your described. Just make sure it too bland, you are likely to be competing against some of high quality video squeeze pages ect...

And more complex Wordpress blog with a squeeze can be something worth growing later on if you are successful in the niche.

Thanks Mr Lim and Greedy! So by squeeze page, you mean an information only page that is not promoting anything correct? Any rule of thumb on how big/small this page should be? Im just confused on making a landing page when I myself dont have a product or an actual website. So for my landing page for my CPA offer I shouldnt worry about capturing their email? I would like to put an email submit on the landing page also, but not if they will have a negative impact on the amount of sales it generates.

It's far too broad to tell at this point, I would need to know what your niche was about. 'Tips' is good for some niches but not others. If you leave me some more information, I probably could help you

KingCPA, niche is health/fitness. I know this is a very competitive niche, but it is what I am most passionate about, and I keep reading to pick something that you are passionate about! All recommendations welcome!
