Google Adsense on my Soccer Blog - What am I doing wrong?

So as you can see from my pic, I get ad clicks and views, but barely earn over 1 cent a day. I have custom channels set up and there are ads relevant to soccer on my blog. Anyone have any ideas as to why I'm earning nothing at all barely?

It could be where you ads are placed, but you should also be aware that it takes a lot of traffic to make money with adsense. Perhaps you should change your strategy and think about promoting apparel and other products used by popular athletes like David B. and stuff.

    Good luck,

    • Yeah but one day I got a click on one of my custom channels ads, and I earned $1.16 just from that one click, so there must be something I can do to earn more from adsense....?

The amount you earn is out of your control - it's what the advertiser bids on your spot that determines how much you make. In other words - the niche you are in is getting low competition ads (cheap for the advertiser).

You would be better off becoming an affiliate for gambling sites around football (soccer) - I believe you can find some that will you a % of the punters who sign up earnings over a lifetime!

Don't look to MAKE money - look to HELP people and you will make all the money you can ever want.

I'd suggest not relying just on Adsense. Have a look at the affiliate programs of the bigger UK/European bookmakers. They generally pay a % commission for the life of the referral based on the referral's losses. And some even zero out negative commissions each month.

They mostly all have a soccer-related new account incentive. Perhaps you might consider building an email list from your site for example by giving away a soccer betting approach and monetising that with a bookie affiliate link or two.

Great time to be looking at this with the new Premiership season about to start.

Welcome to the wonderful world of sad sense. I guess they do not like soccer. Try another niche such as automobile insurance. Like most people have cars. Also, they need to have insurance. When I find a niche that pays pennies... I can sell off the web site or just dump it because it will not pay for the hosting service even.
