Hey everyone,

I already know that EPC "is not that important" when choosing an offer because one does not know the specific circumstances under which affiliates got that EPC. But I´m wondering if there is a point where the EPC is just so high that it is a no-brainer to choose that offer. Right now I´m seeing on Shareasale some offers on my niche with $100 + EPC, the highest one being $345. I think this is simply insane because... well, in theory some affiliates have earned $345 per every CLICK on their ad. Am I missing something here?

Yes, that is true, but it might not be their "ad"... It maybe their mailing list, or from their landing page ect..

Yeah exactly, but do you have a rule of thumb where an EPC is so high that you just promote the offer no matter what? For example, from $40 + EPC.

EPC is important to choose offer. But that's average and most probably from their list this is why EPC sometime seems that high. If the product provide and solve read problem I won't care much on EPC

    Thanks

A high EPC means the offer is converting good for someone. You need to ask Shareasale how they calculate their EPC. Some networks calculate it per 100 clicks. And networks like CJ show a 7-day EPC.

EPC can be a good measurement of how successful an offer is at a specific network, but remember that it might not necessarily convert well for you just because it has a high EPC. Every affiliate uses a different method.

Best bet is to just ask your AM how/why its converting so well and what you can do to become one of those high earners on that offer.

    Cheers.

I always ignore EPC and focus on Payout per lead. I usually don't even look at anything below the £10 mark anyway as it's not worth the effort as the profit margins will be too thin. Then I just do my own due diligence with some keyword research etc as I only do Google and Bing PPC so it's quite straightforward really if I can crank out a bit of profit with a campaign
