Hi folks, I thought I'd let you know about something which has surprised me. I used to think that to get a decent Page Rank was something that couldn't be hurried - 'Google updates (for public consumption) only once every three months' etc. Domain age is measured in years - and so on. Then I tried an experiment. I created a sub-domain fly business class cheap (because I was too cheap to buy additional hosting) and also so that I could have a relevant keyword within the URL. I created the site, did a little promotion (it has only 16 backlinks) and quietly forgot about it, thinking it to be another failed idea. Then I looked again about 6 weeks later and was amazed to see a PR of 3 and fairly high SERPS positions. I can't tell you the how or the why of all this - but what it shows to me is that (a) you can get a decent PR in only a couple of months. (b) There is no apparent disadvantage to using sub-domains as compared to stand-alone domains - and obviously they don't cost anything. Robert |

There are many factors which affect them. All you need is traffic and not the toolbar PR. If you have internal PR and your serps are high, you will get great traffic. Congrats for cool PR and good serp in your case |

It helps that your primary domain has a PR3. I have been convinced for a while that PR bleeds automatically like that from the parent domain. Hmmmmm....wouldn't it be nice to setup something like that to a PR9 site? lol Nice job regardless! |
