Default Let's Hope Bing Grows!

Hello warriors,

I noticed something while busy with my link building campaign on one of my websites... I mainly use Angela's backlinks and directories.

Now, I haven't seen any drastic success using Google, most of my keywords struggle to move and are on page 2 - 5. BUT, on Bing all my keywords are on the top 6!

It looks like Bing is a lot more friendly to link building campaigns, lets hope Bing grows, they can be a valuable asset to any Internet Marketer!!

Viva Bing!

I haven't had a lot of success with Bing for some reason. My site does really well on Google, Live and Yahoo, and I have tons of nice serps, but Bing barely indexes me. I'm not sure why, but it could have something to do with the type of site it is. I'm going to be doing some tests and such to see if I can change that.

Then it's very weird that my site is doing so well, do you have a lot of backlinks? I got around 150 backlinks last week, it looks like Bing responds well to links, because before the links I was nowehere to be seen on their search engine

Ok, some evidence,

I commented on about 5 blogs with the name "Car Insurance Fanatic".

If I seach for it on Bing, I'm first! (On the ZA server). My title does not contain that keyword.

So yea, there it is, Bing loves links

Ok, but I must say, Bing's algorithms sucks, they won't beat Google anytime soon. The nr2 result for a major keyword is a sitemap from a website! LOL

Yeah, I have thousands of backlinks, but I think a lot of it has to do with the types of sites Bing prefers. I don't think they give a lot of weight to blogs like Google does. My commercial sites already get some traffic from Bing.

Maybe it is my Angela and Paul links because they are from high PR websites. It will be interesting to see what Bing does in the future

I don't know why Bing likes your site but I don't think it has anything to
do with Angela and Paul's links. I use Angela's links, and I do very well
in Google, but almost none existent in other search engines including Bing.

However...I do still hope Bing grows and becomes a real competitor for Google.

1. It gives Google and Bing more incentive to improve and out-do each other.

2. It gives us a viable alternative to Google, and that's a good thing.
We wont have to put all our eggs in one big Google shaped basket.

I'm really baffled, why am only I experiencing this? The keywords are extremely competitive keywords, so it is really strange that I rank so well on Bing. By the way the website is only three weeks old, maybe they give fresh content a boost?

I do agree, Google dominating the internet can be frustrating, as they are your only chance of free visitors on a big scale. Having two competing search engines would be excellent!

I'm with Paul M here. Been using Angela's + Paul's links for a few months now - had great success in google but I am a virtual unknown in Bing. Even yahoo seems slow to recognize the juice I'm getting from Angela and Paul.

Not that it matters, I get more traffic from a #15 google position then I do at #1 in yahoo. As for Bing, the quality of their search results is almost laughable. If they can fix their obvious algo-issues, I also would love to see them make google sweat a bit. It gets a little sickening sometimes knowing that so much of our business depends on only one companies purview.

Interesting - this week Im about the same in bing as google for 3-4 terms I care about... actually one of them - far better. Need to go to the analytics and see what's up now :-)

Want Bing to grow too .. cuz google with all the power means they can shut the biz down and youre tooled.

Everyone feared MS as the draconian over-lords - which they sure can be ... but google appears to be of the same ilk.

Return on shareholders equity and all that ... their brand above all else - even their "customers" .... the poor saps paying adwords fees, and the businesses by the MILLIONS who abandoned Yellow Page and Print media advertising relationships for their new masters over at google.

Imagine employing an office full of people all dependent on google's perception of your website and offiste SEO [ ranking ] ... some veggie burger eatin, whale-saving, PETA tard decides your site is harmful to the environment and gets a WOODY [ pun intended ] to manually review your co's site and de-index until you prove all your content is yours and you're not engaged in anything - harmful to googles brand and their results to their users experience?

At least with MS - you could just PAY the man and be done with it.

[ so to speak ]

Im getting a little grossed out with google adsense and adwords crap scorching my cornea's at every page click. Makes me almost miss the days of the Porn Pop Over.

lightbulb moment
