I have a similar question for all you "pingers"... when you ping after a backlink, do you ping the main site homepage or do you ping the page your profile is actually on (or blog, etc.)? I've always pinged my profile page, but lately I've been wondering if I should be doing the main page instead...?

if your link to your profile doesnt appear on the homepage then there's no point in pinging the home page

if the homepage contains an rss feed that shows your link then it would be good to ping the rss feed directly

Is this about pinging for backlinks? That cannot be done easily. Pingomatic just looks like the pingoat service. A copycat of that.

I ping all my Angela's and Paul's backlinks and by that I mean my profile page and not the main page.

Pinging basically lets google know that your site is there & updated. It will be good to do pinging after creating backlinks if they have not done so.

when you have made your backlink you need to copy the url of the page that shows your backlink overview and ping it ..then make a RSS feed from that url by putting it into Ponyfish RSS Feed Builder then bookmark that rss feed at a couple of decent sites like

And by doing all the above you should get all your backlinks nicely indexed by the big "G"

Pinging backing is good step in SEO.
It helps in indexing the profile link in the Google.

For indexing your valuable backlinks to search engine, you should ping them. When you will ping them, search engine will get a notification about your link. If search engine do not know about your link, then they do not do great work for your site.

It means letting major search engine know that there is some new content on your site please visit and have a look... but if you do link building and then ping those links so that search engine can see your link in the anchor text then its a different thing, do not ping your backlinks in large numbers in a short duration of time as it may get you penalised..

I think about 6 months to 1 year+ ago, mass pinging tons of backlinks doesn't work anymore... anyone notice if you bulk ping thousands of backlinks all point to your website to mass ping servers doesn't work any more?

To ping a back link means to make the google spider to index your backlink. Here are some good methodes to do that:

Method 1
1.Collect and make a list of the Backlinks you have made like
2.Now make a text file with the list.
3.Go to Pingfarm.
4.Upload the text file you created.
5.Let the ping complete.
6.Now you have successfully pinged and is a step closer to Google Indexing.
Method 2

1. Copy and paste your links in links2rss.com
2. Create the feeds with the click of a button
3. Head over to feedlisting.com. Submit your feeds
4. Wait 24-48hrs and your backlinks will be on google.

Method 3

It could be easily done with Pingomatic. Just create a single spreadsheet with the links where you posted your website and then post them in Pingomatic, check all networks and just ping them 1 by 1

I haven't tried angela and paul's backlinks. But since they are a backlink service (as far as I know), they surely have a bunch of low quality links that take time to be crawled and index.

Pinging is a process of pushing your links to get indexed by search engines. This process is not merely necessary because search engines will eventually find and crawl your backlinks.
