Hi Warriors I'm getting some great SEO results (rankings and traffic levels) for my clients and my own sites by doing keyword research using a combination of Google's keyword tool, Wordtracker, the Google SK tool and Micro Niche Finder. These tools are all good in their own ways but the difference between the number of search results dug up by each is alarming to say the least. Aside from setting up a dummy Adwords campaign to track real search volume levels - does anyone have a proven, easy to use system for finding accurate search numbers for keywords without having to use millions of tools or spending cash on PPC tests? I know this has been asked before but I've never really heard a satisfactory answer. Thanks in advance for your help :-) |

I have found the Google Keyword tools to be highly accurate. The differences in search volume for the two Google tools are the due to different calculation methods. The Adwords tool shows you data for a recent single month of local searches and an average number of monthly global searches for Google as well as all partner traffic from the Google search network. While the SK tool shows the average monthly local searches over a 12 month period from Google excluding the search network. It's all actual data from the single largest source of search data available, so you can't find anything more reliable. |

Search these forums for the term GTEF and you'll find some lengthy posts I've made on the subject. IMO, the Google KW Tool and MNF is all you need (and you really can get by without MNF).

i am using Market Samurai. Irony: I have several sites ranked very high in google for MNF, including reviews. Occasionally i hear people raving about MNF....but i must be doing something wrong. The first thing which puzzles me..i enter a search term in MNF and it does NOT show me competition, i need to click on each single entry first to retrieve competition values. I cant really work with MNF, it just doesnt help me or i am doing something wrong. Also VERY much looking forward to KW elite 2.0 - for the time being Market Samurai is probably the best. |

To be honest, "competition" counts are pretty much useless anyhow. I ignore them completely. And frankly, anyone can do this easily enough without any automated tools.
