Do You Check If Your Backlinks Are Also Indexed?

So you've completed thousands of links pointing back to your site, after sometime you found out only 25% of them are actually indexed by Google. The remaining 75% are just out there merely existing without giving your site any link juice. They say you should bookmark your backlink pages (but I don't want to spam bookmarking sites with a profile page with one link and no real content). How do you deal with this? Have you hired a link building service that actually checks if the backlinks they made are also indexed?
