Thanks for the awesome article Michael. In your experience, is the 0.05% conversion figure accurate, or are you just being conservative? Any thoughts on using this method in conjunction with something like Nichemarketninja's Fast Track Affiliate method, if you're familiar with it?

Comments... FIRST: How long do you think it would take to locate and post 50,000 individual products for sale on Amazon? SECOND: How much time would it take each day to keep up with price fluctuations from your suppliers? For instance, if you are banking on a $3 profit on a product, a price increase from your supplier could eliminate that -- or worse -- cause you to sell you product at a LOSS. THIRD: If you did as you say in your blog post and sold 2,500 individual products per month, and it only took you 5 minutes each for all parts of the sale process -- searching for the products, posting them online, getting the orders, having them drop-shipped, etc -- you would have to spend well over 200 hours per month to fulfill the orders. That doesn't include research, customer service, maintenance, etc. |

It truly depends on the Niche your hitting . . . I chose video games in this niche which would probably do less than 0.05% (because its saturated). I have not used NicheMarketingNinjas affiliate method, i will check it out.

To gather products I do outsource this labor . . . you can find low cost labor that will harvest products in any given Niche. So the time frame would be who you hire to do this work. I would not pay over $2 / hour for data mining and any good data miner from India can do the trick with a little guidance. Your excel sheet might have: product name / SKU / Supplier . . . . This method of making money is labor intensive, but it does work and its very clean and stable (also doesn't require advanced knowledge of PPC / SEO. once you have established a working system, don't be afraid to also incorporate offshore labor to help manage this part of your business. Again, as it grows just treat it as a real business and you will increase your chances of success.

Thanks for the article Metafever. One thing I'd never understood is why Amazon would let other people sell the same thing on their site. Why invite more competition?

because Amazon makes money either way. You sell, they charge you hafty fees. They sell they make money.

It is funny that you post this as I have been thinking of posting a question about if anyone has any experience selling stuff on Amazon, and what they thought about it. I guess I will not have to do that now. Thanks. The only problem I found was that Amazon is not accepting sellers for cloting and accessories and that was a couple of the categories that I wanted to try. But there is plenty of others so I guess I need to get off my butt and get to work. |

Hmmm..so if I am reading this right..(and please correct me if I am wrong) you are charging more than what someone would pay if they went to Amazon and skimming off the top? Have you checked to see if this violates Amazon's Terms and Conditions?

| I have been told by long term Amazon sellers that Amazon nets more off other companies products than their own.

Before ebay raised their fees and locked in their low shipping rates, there were many sellers selling 1000s of dvd, books, music and video games using the exact same method. They would sign up for Amazon Prime which gives you free 2 day shipping for 1 low annual fee. They would then sell the product and charge $7 to $8 for shipping. Most of the profit was in the shipping. A lot of people made a lot of money. I was considering doing it until ebay changed the rules of the game and messed it all up...

How can buying low and selling high be against their terms and conditions . . . This is just an easy method for drop shipping, with out going through the hassle of of finding drop shippers. |
