If i write an article and submit to ezinearticles with my link to my site how does Google see that link? Is it comparable to a link from another site in my field or is it just a PR 0 link that I need zillion of to rank up in the SERPS? Thanks for any input. |

HI simpleonline1234, All new pages start out with PR0, however if the page is on a popular website that contains internal links to that page, you are instantly getting a little link juice to your new page. More importantly your page may receive traffic from those internal links. An often overlooked and perhaps the most powerful benefit is that these pages with your backlinks help to establish the relevancy of the landing page for a targeted keyword. The real benefit comes in the form of targeted traffic that is far more likely to but your products, click your ads or organically link to your website. This is what makes article marketing so effective. P.S. SERP are not ranked by the number of backlinks or PR, they are ranked first and foremost by relevance. |

Okay, one very important fact about artical submission that most folks are not getting. The idea is that your artical will get ranked in the serps. You want to get it to rank as high as you can. If this happens then the backlink from that article will drive traffic to your site, in a perfect world that's what you want. If you can't get it to rank that high, you still will have a backlink that Google will see pointing back to your site. Okay, here's the part that some people are missing! You need to optimize your article with the keywords you want to rank for. In other words, it's not good enough that you just write the artical for the backlink, make it count and rank it high! That's what will put money in your pocket! |

I agree with your assertion that you need to optimize your article, but I don't agree that people are missing that point. It seems to me that while it's a essential tactic it was a little outside the scope of the OP's question. | |

Yes Don, I would agree it to be a little out of the question. But The only reason I brought it up is I see this a lot in the folks that I teach. I have been teaching this stuff for over ten years and I see a pattern sometimes. We also have a mastermind group and this questions comes up often there too. That's the only reason. I guess I was trying to kill two birds with one stone! Sometimes you win...sometimes...well, not so much! lol |

You can get a rough sense of the SEO value of EZA articles by trying to find any of the sites linked to in the top 100 of google for any search related to the keywords and anchor text links with any monetizable volume, a fair approximation is about nil for the majority. Noteworthy examples of failure can be found in the forex, diet and foreclosure categories. The SEO value of any given backlink is a function of scope. If you find a less competitive search, an EZA backlink will be extremely valuable, with the risk of course EZA will outrank the site you're trying to SERP up for that search. If you're trying to unseat the top 10 for an intensely competitive, valuable search like the three above, EZA backlinks certainly won't hurt but can't help much. |

The Idea is that other web masters and editors find your article good enough to take it and publish on their web site. The terms & conditions of the article directory (such as eZineArticles.com) require from them to take the article including your authors bio with the link(s) and publish it without modifications (such as removing your link).
