Hi Warriors! I have been using adwords for a while now and have learned some things. Still trying to figure out others! I wonder what are strategies that all of you pros use that work for you. Or maybe you just figured something out that you can share. Here are a couple of mine: Keyword pulling: I started with a bunch of keywords that I was interested in and each day would look to see which ones were grabbing impressions and clicks. I then pull out the ones that are working and make an ad that is targeted to those words or phrase. If possible having the exact words in the ad as my keyword phrase. Targeting your audience: Pay attention to what audience you want. Want people from the US? Then dont target the whole world. Dont care? You can get a lot of clicks cheap if you dont target the higher priced countries such as the US, Canada and some European countries. |

General Question. I think while using Adwords you learn it over time. It's not easy, you have to have the desire to really digg deep, really invest your time and energy and test things and get your own experience. From my point of view the key is to really understand the workings of adwords by experience. It means that you get a campaign that makes you at least that money back that you invest. Focussing on one campaign and getting this campaign really to an optimum level has worked for me. It gets you the focus you need on one single thing. I also always recommend the Definitive AdWords Guide from Perry Marshall and his website. He has that mind-set to go to an insane level of detail to then understand the general workings. Hm, one tip: for the content network: if you have a campaign that is doing ok in the content network, filter out the websites that have a high CTR and then create a new campaign with placements only. Use good image ads if possible. If you have a good CTR here, you can even switch over to paying by CPM (by impressions, not clicks) and raise your ROI further. Another tip: Use conversion tracking in adwords at all cost. For me thats the most important thing to get. If you have made 30 conversions, you could use the conversion optimizer and bid on conversion-basis. The Google A.I. will then use even more data and adjust the campaign "on autopilot" to hit your cost per conversion. |

| adwords secrets? Compelling Ad Text With Dynamic Headline Probably the biggest AdWords secret I can give you is to write a compelling ad text. At the end of the day you want someone to click on your ad - so you got to give them a great reason. A good idea is to include a bonus when someone purchases your affiliate product - and include that as an offering in the ad. Try and write the ad text as if you are talking to someone - use words like you and your - and of course something to grab there attention. hope it helps. |

Create separate Ad Campaign for Content and search networks. This will help you track conversions better. Also, The content network is not as strict about quality scores, so you can be more flexable with your ads and landing pages and still get cheaper click costs. |

One thing that I like to do is compare my adword results with estibot as much as possible to get a better feel for the 2.

As said, is very hard to make a campaign profitable. You must know things that takes long time if you test it by yoursef. For exemple, bid for positions around 3, not 1 and 2. Because people try to click in higher positions without read the ad. And later then donīt buy you, because they donīt care what you offer.

CarolinaInvestor, from your original post, I think you are heading in the right direction. Long ways to go yet however. Thumoney is right, you need the desire to dig deep, invest time and energy. You need to track, analyse, modify, then analyse and modify again. There's so much information in an account to optimize in so many ways, it'll make your head spin. Good tips in this forum. | Yeah it pretty much has been spinning since I first opened the account. I guess the thing to remember is something that is true with most computer applications. Learning is ongoing. You dont ever really 'get there.' If you think you have then you stopped and everyone else kept going.

Other than separating search & content, how about this..... For every campaign that you have, separate them, 1 for USA traffic, 1 for other English speaking countries because the conversion rates will be different & you can adjust your bids accordingly. Quote:

> Other than separating search & content, how about this... Yep, you can do this too. But I'd separate each country's campaign into search and content as well. You may find differences in prices too. If you want to go further, you can separate a USA campaign into regions of the country. I had a couple of clients where we did that. One client, we targeted only the northern states for a service because we didn't think those in the warmer southern states would be interested (or less interested). All in the name of maximizing quality clicks, thereby getting better click rates and conversion rates. |

Splitting up the US is a great idea. I never really used adwords for one of my sites because I couldn't envision getting any ROI. I may need to reevaluate and just target local surfers. Thanks! | |

To be successful you need to experiment quite a lot. For example, I have discovered that people from outside U.S. (like India) are more likely to click on certain links as these people still haven't been exposed to too many scams. Another things you really need to do is to be unique from your competitiors. Don't try to copy their campaign. Be as unique as possible. |

| I have also found that to be true, however, I have not found them very quick to follow through and buy. Have you experienced differently?
