| I agree 100%. It makes no sense at all to think Google would punish you for having too many backlinks. All they can do is not reward you. It is worth noting that if you only have one specific type of backlink, and if it looks you made them all yourself, they will not cause your site to be promoted. But this is to be avoided and I repeat, not being rewarded is not the same as being punshed.

its impossible fr google to penalize you for linking. that is the way the web works. without links, your site will get no traffic. i've watched the vidoe and i think it is very good.

kinda a silly post, if you research good information you will see that yes they reward for backlinks not penalize. The whole linking in bad neighborhoods is kind of a myth.

| Agreed. If it was penalizable, it would be a great way to take down your opposition. Worst Google can do is to discount them.

Yes this is a good video that explains one of many myths about incoming links. I really think Google is a lot smarter than to penalize any sites who received incoming links from nasty sites.

The SEO industry, unsurprisingly, tries to paint Google as a "boogie monster" who will eat your site alive if it finds a "non natural" backlink. What they fail to point out is how they obtain backlinks for their clients! Of course we all know they use the same techniques they tell everyone not to use. If you wait for truly natural backlinks, your natural life will be over before you get anywhere.
