I have many aritcles on the front page of Google. Some are a little lower down than I would like them to be.
Would you backlink the articles or leave them alone? |

I always backlink to my articles. It can only help and doesn't take much time to implement.

Cool, Would you backlink them from anohter article directory or bookmark them?
I don't want to kill them and I would test but seriously don't want to lose any of my keyword rankings. |

It sounds like you have a concern about setting up external inbound links to your articles. What leads you to think you'll lose ranking if you set up external inbound links to your articles? And when you say you're on page one, is it for keywords that get a lot of searches per month? Or for less common search terms?

Look at dofolow blogs related to your article's niche and then backlink from there....Make sure that you post useful comments on the blog and not appear spammy.
Blogs are great places to start your backlinking. |

I have backlined from other article directories and gotten good results. I would do it from a different article though or at least rewrite it first.

I can't see how any backlinking would "kill" your current article rankings. I always bookmark my articles and I've had great results. I've also used links from other article directories to link back to my articles at ezinearticles.com. In the secondary directories, I use one backlink from the resource box to link back to my site and the 2nd to link to my ezinearticle. Works like a charm.

Excellent guys. I'll be sure to backlink my articles. This question wasn't really based on that I haven't done before but had noticed adverse affects when I did do it before.
Anyone had any experiences like that? |

I backlink my own site first, then worry about backlinking articles if I get around to it.

You definatly want to backlink to them.
That would be the only way you could get those articles to rank higher! Tom Brite |
