One of my sites normally gets ~300 visitors/day. It's not even halfway through the day and Bing has sent me 1,683 visitors for one three-word phrase alone. I fluctuate between 2-5 for my main two-word phrase on google and don't get 1/20 of that many visitors. Needless to say my adsense has already earned more than ten times its daily average. (Clickbank is seeing dramatically increased numbers as well, but i'm not worried about them.) I've read the stories about adsense publishers being banned on a whim, even with proof they've done nothing wrong. They can look at they're own Analytics which I have installed and see Bing is responsible. Do you think they'll push that banned button just for the h**l of it?

Don't worry about it. You probably got buzzed up in the MSN/Bing world. Just enjoy the ride.

Hi chessguy, I get those occasional spikes and I've never had a problem with AdSense. You only need worry if the traffic is poorly targeted or from a dubious source. |

It all depends on what is causing the spike. If you have recently earned some organic backlinks from authority sites it could be permanent, it also could be caused by a news event and in such case will subside as quickly as it came.

Bing is definitely copying from Google. I had a steady visitors flow from Google and from Bing and one day the worst nightmare of any webmaster happened- Sudden drop in all my keywords in Google. After a week i had another drop, this time at Bing. About a month later i got all my original ranking back in Google and a week later... what a surprise! all my rankings in Bing were back again!

Usually these rides are nothing to worry about because one matter which makes Google suspicious is the sudden increase in number of clicks made on the ads, and not necessarily the increase in page views.
