Hey Warriors, last week I wrote 4 articles which I submitted to several article directories. Now I wanted to put those articles on my website. Will this harm my sites ranking since these articles already exist (duplicate content) ??? Thanks in advance |

Normally you put them on your site first, then on the other sites after you spin them. So I'd write new content. Why not? :P

Hi deanfz, Search engines rank pages not sites, so no it won't hurt your site's ranking. Those pages with duplicate content will compete with the duplicated pages, and will be filtered from the SERP unless they are highest in ranking. If you get a sufficient amount of quality backlinks you can outrank all the other duplicated pages and have your article listed in the SERP for your targeted term. |

dburk, I gotta admit. That was one of THE best answers to duplicate content I have read. Thanks! Why are the two biggest themes here, duplicate content, and google hates me? And many times, people put them both together. But like I said, that answer was short and sweet! Paul |
