Hello fellow Warriors, Can you tell me how to run a PPC ad on a Wordpress product review page when the product page url looks like this. http://www.site.com/category/health-...flexbeltreview. Is there a way to promote a site with a url that's extremely long? As I understand it, only 25 characters can be displayed in the url. Or, is there a way to clean up the url to make it work with PPC? Thanks! |

Hi Christie, I kept running into the same problem with long URLs, so I bought a couple of domains strictly for placing redirects. One of them is a 4-character name I picked up when it expired, and the other is a 5-character name - both dot-coms. Doing it this way is like having your own private "tinyurl.com" but shorter. Wonder if that'd work for you? Cheers from warm and smiling Thailand, Charles |

The display URL can be abbreviated anyway, so it's not necessary to include it all. http://www.site.com/category/health-...flexbeltreview could become http://www.site.com/theflexbeltreview And it would all be within Google rules |

Exactly my thinking (same as Netcel), I would just use the main domain name as the display url. So something like "My Site . com" *please excuse the spaces, am getting a link block error. even though it goes into a deeper url. |

You don't need to put the whole URL in the display part. Oh, and don't put the http:// part like Netcel did. It will be acceptable but just looks weird in your ad. You have 35 characters to use in the display URL section. These are acceptable: www.site.com site.com www.site.com/landingpage the /landingpage part does not need to be an actual landing page. You can replace it with your keyword. However, if you do this, I recommend creating such a page and redirect it to your full URL. |

I am having the same problem - my homepage url is too long. I have tried to file an exception with adwords, but have not gotten a response yet. Ugh. If I had known then what I know now...
