Tip Positioning in Bing

Hi Guys!

Bing is now a reality and by powering Yahoo's search results we as marketers must start to work on the new dilemma, how to rank high on bing?

I've looked over the web but there is little information- some of it confusing and contradictory so I decided to post here the information I have gathered so far.

1- bing counts incoming links wherever they have been spidered (if it is a "bad neighborhood" and it was indexed by bing, it will grant you that link)

2-Special attention in keywords in Title tag

3-Keywords in metatags are now important again

4-Keyword density very important.

5-More emphasis on in-page SEO

6-Heading keywords specially important

My thoughts/theories:

Since the engine is based on powerset, a system that tries to interpret human language, specially questions, I believe using “the answer to how to rank high…” or “rank high by” will position your page better when users type “how do I rank high?” or “I want to rank high”, try implying the article is an answers to a specific question as the software ties to interpret what your answer is about, this means that some pages will rank high for keywords you are not even using in your page.

... this is what I have so far, will keep searching, hope it helps!

These are the very same things I have also seen with Bing. Onpage optimization is crucial for this search engine.

That is a better thing than google which does not easily count incoming links. Google is like a lazy for which we need to keep on feeding links. But bing is not new. By now it must be doing better. But in reality it is nowhere near yahoo or google in its reach. So there is no need to worry.
