I've got an ecommerce website and I am switching vendors for our products. Unfortunately I need to delete all the old products... I can't replace them, they must be deleted for many reasons. My site is currently around 2,000 pages and products make up about 1700 pages - so if I delete 1700 pages at once will google kill me? LOL What's the negative effect - someone please advise |

If you asked me a week ago I would have said yes, but I just read a report that Steve Clayton sent out to his list. It is quite interesting and according to his report it won't afffect your Page Rank. Obviously you will leave a lot of dead links from Google's index which will most certainly hurt you. Can't you figure out a way to keep the pages without deleting anything? |
