Hello Warriors,
I am building an authority review site where we will review health, biz opp, financial and other products. Pretty much an all in one review site. A similar site to what I'm referring to is Diet Reviews and Reviews of Diets. Here's my dilemma, I really like the way that site is laid out but i don't think it would be good for ppc because there is so much stuff going on and is essentially too confusing. And obviously I'm talking about sending ppc traffic to a particular review not to the homepage. So, I'm wondering... is it possible to build a site that is good for organic traffic AND ppc traffic? Would I basically just take this site like this and put less advertisements on it and build a cleaner layout and promote it through organic and ppc traffic? If anyone knows i would GREATLY appreciate some feedback on how to do this. I don't want to have to build a site specifically for ppc and then another one for organic stuff especially if they will both promote the same thing. The greatest help would be if you could provide examples of some sites that would be good for organic and ppc so I could see what an ideal site would look like. Thanks everyone! |

Maybe I am missing something but I don't see the need for having different sites for "organic" and "ppc" traffic.
The site you gave as an example, is a WP site... and you can use any kind of theme on yours; i.e. cleaner layout, less ads etc. (BTW, earlier today radio posted about a very interesting free review theme) If the PPC traffic comes to different Pages or posts - you can make your page template(s) and the single template very simple (= no distractions!), giving them the only option to click through to the product's page. On the other hand, your main index can be a nice "inventory" of more products, organized eventually in categories etc. It's just a matter of finding the right theme and, perhaps, a little bit of customizing. |

Err...yes I am also not too sure what you mean here. Why would you think of having two sites optimised for either ppc or organic searches? Usually you have one site that is ideally optimised for organic searches on the subject and keywords that you want....and then if you want you could also launch a ppc campaign in parallel for those similar keywords. One other comment I would make is that from what you mention....the site seems to deal with many topics (or at least reviews of different subject matter). In this case it would be more difficult to optimise the site as there there is no specific product, topic or subject it is dealing with - so what would you target in a ppc campaign for example....everything with the site deals with? If so it would not be a cheap campaign....
