Website Optimizer And Adwords Q

Hey,
I'm running website optimizer to test some things and I know that google will randomly show different pages. If I run ppc to those pages should I add the various pages to test as my destination url or should I add site A and will google rotate between site A and site B?

Create two ads, both the same, except for the destination URL, one going to page A, the other to page B. Set your campaign settings to Rotate, not Optimize. Google will then show both ads about equally so you can compare which page converts better.

Note that you should still test other ads and do the same thing. You may find that page A converts better with certain kinds of ads while page B does better in other cases.

If you are doing a multivariate test you will be testing combination of "elements" on your pages. I.E. you can test : Headline A , Headline B, Photo A, Photo B, and Subheadline A and B.

You do this by just putting special code around these tags on the same page.

Then website optimizer will tell which combination works best after so many convertions.

If you do A/B split testing then you create one other page to your original and Optimizer will automatically rotate between page A and B for each unique visitor (not each actual visit).

it is because you have the cookie in your browser. Try another browser or jsut go to the website optimiser page and look at both pages through that

Thanks. It's weird because I'm using clicktale to see what visitor do on my page but it used to show both pages in 2 different projects now it just shows the 1 page?

as long as the website optimizer stats shows different hits on the the separate pages it is working
