Default No 2nd chance with Google

About 2 years ago, I was using Google Adsense ads on my website and there was one day when I gave them a good amount of exposure with decent traffic but I did not see any revenue when I checked my account in the morning so I thought that the clicks were not being tracked properly so I kind of clicked on my own Google ad.

Long story short, Google knew that I clicked on my own Adsense ads and so they suspended my account.

2 years later, I have asked Google to forgive me and give me a 2nd chance but so far they have not replied back to me so I wanted to ask you all here if you think that Google would be willing to give people like me a 2nd chance?

Did this happen to any of you?

Tal

Google (adsense or adwords) doesn't need to give people a second chance - losing an affiliate here or there is not going to put a ding in their income one bit and there is always a gazillion folks applying for accounts each day.

Start over with a new account. The worst that could happen is they eventually catch it and ban you again. In that case you are no worse off than before.

Good luck!

You cannot use the same name, mailing address, e-mail address, and also the same i.p. You may need to change your i.p. permanently. If you put them on the same domains, they will immediately be able to associate your old account with you. That is why you have to think very carefully whether it is worth to open a new account again.

Hi Tal,

Google pays AdSense publishers money they get from advertisers. If they gave people like you a second chance, can you imagine how quickly those advertisers would cancel their accounts. If there are no advertisers then their is no money for publishers. Don't take it personal, it's just a necessity for their business model.

It's stories like yours that help Google maintain a reputation as a great place for advertisers. If they started giving cheaters a second chance then that reputation would instantly vanish.

Absolutely--The same identical thing happened to me. I am still unable to get an account but my problem was only about a year ago. We find them very difficult to work with. Sharon

I agree. Google never gives a second chance and the only way out is to apply using a family member's name but use a new domain during registration. Once approved then give permission to include your website.

I think I am just going to let this by and not try to go around this. Google is pretty smart and they will catch me again sooner or later. Imagine if I earn $500 in One month and they catch me and don't want to pay me that amount?

I agree with you, I have clicked on ads on my site for a while now.

No there is no revenue in my adsense account showing for that particular click but the click does show. Not trying to "scam" google just wanted to see what the ad was about.

I don't do it often but every once in a while if I see something that interests me, I click on it. Google knows that it is me because they don't pay any revenue on that click. (I also log into my account from the same computer)

Never been banned, never had any issues.

Maybe it wasn't because you clicked, maybe it was something else.

I agree with the others, set up a new account. New Gmail, new everything.

Just my $.02

There was someone a year or so ago that was saying they clicked one of their own Adsense ads for something that interested them, they bought the product the ad was for and Google banned them.

A real kick in the balls if you ask me. Isn't the idea for Google to show ads paid for by a merchant so interested buyers can purchase a product and make the merchant (and Google) money?

Rules are rules, I can dig it. Just thought in this case the rules sucked.

People, don't click ads on your own site ever. If the ad is so damn good you can't resist, TYPE the frigging url by hand rather than clicking on ad.
