Default Paul and Angela's Backlinks

Hi all,
I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question but it is something that has niggling away at me for a while.
I have so used around 100 of the backlinks supplied by Paul and Angela over the past couple of months. The "problem" I have us that when I check the site towards which the backlinks are aimed (via Yahoo site explorer) they don't appear as inbound links. I am missing something ?
regards,
Anthony

Hi Anthony,

It may just be that Yahoo hasn't yet indexed all the pages that your links are on.

Cheers,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,
all the backlinks are aimed at my home page which is indexed(in fact all my pages are indexed).
thanks,
Anthony

Actually after having re-read your post I see you are saying the pages the pages that my links are on. But these are all high PR sites and some of the links have been on for weeks. Syrely these pages would have been spidered by now.

I've experienced this problem with these backlinks. The percentage that gets indexed is very low. What have other warriors done to ensure their links get indexed?

Hi Anthony,

Yes, I was meaning that pages your links were on, rather than the pages on your own site.

Have you looked to see if the links show up in Google? I mean by using your Google Webmaster Account rather than the public links?

Cheers,
Suzanne

Hi,
using Google webmaster has really confused me(and led to some serious concerns) as if I'm reading it right I have precisely THREE links. I do not understand this as I've worked quite diligently at link building for the past couple of months. I must be missing something,
regards,
Anthony

p,s, I don't know if it makes a difference or not but I only verified my site with Google webmaster 10 minutes ago

I have a feeeling that will greatly impact things. Googles tool for checking inlinks - to me - is still very lacking.

Its shown zero links to a site on page one of google and that has over 1200 inlinks to it in Yahoo Site Explorer. YMMV.

Why would a DEEP inner page [ PR0 ] on a High PR home page'd site get any more possibility of being crawled than a deep inner page that is PR0 or n/a on a PR2-3 site? The bots arent going to come to your profile links inside a site unless there's something leading them to your profiles ... on the sites other active pages. Blog posts, forum posts, photos with links etc...

That said - ya gotta drive the bots/crawlers to your profile page.

1) Bookmark the URL of every profile page that you setup. Preferrably with Bookmarking Demon to 125+ sites.

Every page I've ever done that to is Indexed with 24 hrs.

2) Don't expect all your links to show in the backlink checkers. It's a well-known fact that the search engines only display a small portion of the total number of links they have on file with those tools.

What you care about is results. If you put up the links and see improvement, but don't see the links in the tools...then they are there 'hidden' in the background and not being displayed by the backlink check tools.

Kind of hard to watch for progress if you're not showing up on any keywords for your site itself though isn't it? I can get Digg, Hubpage and even press releases up for my keywords for a couple of days but my site is always no where to be found.

Hi,
Yahoo site explorer shows my site as having 112 inbound kinks. These are mainly from articles published, forum entries, blog entries and internal links. I'm struggling to find a single link that has come from my link building from Paul and Angela's links Starting to get concerned that I've wasted an awful lot of time and effort putting those links in. I would be interested to know if others have checked the effectiveness of this strategy,
regards,
Anthony

I actually don`t buy the profile link thing. If I was google I`d slap a worthless content on profile pages after all It`s a business.

But saying that, make sure you forum name/keyword begins with "AAAA.." and not "AB.." to "z..", make some posts in the forums to get your name coming up and as has already been said, external linking.

It may takes up to a month or two to show all the links, nevertheless, I see great result within weeks with Angela & Paul packets... love it!

My advice is - setup Google alert with your keyword and url, you will see the backlinks update more frequently.

Another thing is track the keywords ranking instead of checking the backlinks, each search engine discover and crawl the site differently...

also, recently some of the webmasters are 'nofollowing' profile links. The good news is Google bots rarely pay much attention to nofollow tags. Posting a thoughtful post on a blog (that links back to your profile) will speed up the process,

The simple reality is that all the links on the list will not be crawled, especially links form Forum Registrations. You have to register and then post as well to get more exposure.

The link packets do not guarantee that your link will be crawled. Angela when she joins anything then goes out and makes comments for exposure. She also dumps links into fields with BBCode and HTML that were never designed to contain links. And those links often look spammy then they get removed by the site admins.

And she is ranking for non competitive terms by leveraging the authority of existing sites. If you look at her own affiliate sites there isn't much there.

Simply put these people are making their money by selling their packets to you, not marketing affiliate products.

But that isn't that what the recognizable bloggers are doing as well? Making money off of you?

There are not many people that are pushing information that are actually making money selling affiliate products like golf clubs, books, baby blankets, or whatever.

Those people don't write about their methods. And why would they?

Is it possible the links are being masked through permalinks coding or something similar?

There are many reasons a page is crawled. Some are not so obvious, such as the parent site using sitemap.xml files and search engines picking up on links that way.

All sites want as MANY of their pages indexed as possible. This includes profile pages. These sites will try to get the profile pages you create indexed. Pure and simple.

I have seen forum signatures taking up a lot of time.Yes some do show up as backlinks and there is serp improvement even if the links do not show.Simply do a search for the word "forums".Set your google search preference to 100.Use SEO firefox tool (free)to high light do follow forums with PR.Use SeoQwake again another free tool to toggle the search according tp PR.You got your list of dofollow forums.Open each forum in a separate tab to register and put your links in the signature.Time consuming?Ask a needy college students for a couple of hours every day.I have tried this method. But I don't like it as there are other more effective ways of link building.

I have actually done a test, using a site with on page SEO done, and just using angela and paul links I have been amazed in a week one of the keyphrases (very competitive market) has jumped 50 places to page 8, in one week.

I have also seen pages attain first page slot in one week too. I would suggest using these in conjunction with other link building methods, and make sure the onpage stuff is spot on too.

Kind regards
Neil

What you need is a junk blog which gets indexed pages with all of your links. So that page will get indexed and eventually those other pages will get indexed.

make sure you use canonical links

make sure you always link to yourself in the same fashion

e.g. choose www or no www - but choose one way

sometimes links take several months to show up on yahoo i've noticed

Anthony,

Here's a little trick. if you've been using the same username for all of them. Make a google search for that username. Then you will see all of the profiles that have been indexed.

They may not be showing any backlinks but google has crawled and indexed them already, so you know they are probably being counted or will be soon.

Not exactly a trick, but a nice way to see if they've been seen or not.

Like I just said in another thread, you need to be judging your site's performance on how much is it rising in the SERPS, NOT how many backlinks are showing for it. To break it down:-

-Only a percentage of your backlinks will ever show up in any backlink checker
-Angela and Paul's links DO work
-A percentage(small, if you are doing it right) of the profiles you create with the packages will be deleted
-By pinging your profile links, you give them a greater chance of being indexed quickly

My main site shows 189 backlinks, and it probably actually has 500+ from various sources(including the aforementioned link packages) Don't stress about it - keep consistently building links via various sources, adding content and you are going to keep rising, no doubt about it

-Liam

Bingo! I have a site I just submitted about 30 backlinks to in a day and only 4 are showing in the tools. How do I know Google is seeing more? Because when I do a search in google for the keywords and another Identifier I see 20+ of my profile pages come right up

Google has crawled them (didn't even ping them) so clearly the links are there.
