Default Question on links

Hello warriors!

I have a simple question for you guys which could probably go in seo. I have been building my links to my newest site for my blog almost exclusively. Since my blog is not the main sales page. Is this a better way to gain pr for the main page then to build the links to the main site. At the moment I am doing about a 3-4 to 1 link building. So for every 3 to 4 links I build for the blog of this site I build 1 link to the main site to help increase ranking. Should I keep with this methode or should I stick to building links to the main site first and build the links to the blog second. I am getting the viewers to go to the main site from the blog. However most of the search engine traffic goes directly to the blog first. Which is kind of scarry when they do not look for the link to the main page and either just click away on an adsense or exit back to there search. Any ideas and thanks you guys have helped me grow my business expotentialy over the past few months.

So any takers on this. I have been building links to my blog over my main page. As I do with most of my sites. Should I be building links to the main site over the blog. I also build links to articles from time to time but this is just to help get it indexed really fast.

Is the blog on a different domain or the same? If it were me, I'd put the blog on the same domain as the main site as well to gain traction with the SE... you may be doing this though.

This subject is difficult to say one way or another is the best way or will work for one situation every time. That said, my personal preference is to build links to primarily to the main site (home page). Once I get a good rank/index of the main page, I then start to build ranking on the call to action and/or blog pages. I will occasionally or frequently, return to build more links to the home page.

Make sure you have a good call to action from the blog pages.

Thank you for your info. Yes the blog is on the same domain. I would not make a seperate blog out side of the domain unless I was to use a blogger blog to help build backlinks to my current site. May be I worded this wrong though. I use the blog to drive traffic to the site. It is on the same domain but in its own folder as I do with almost all of my sites. So I normally would use domain.com/blog as the blog index I would then build links to the blog since this will be the main thing driving traffic to the main site in the first place. Then on the main page since it is a sales page I normally do not add in buttons to get back to the blog but there is almost always a link to the blog at the bottom. Right now with my newest site. I have just over 100 backlinks to the main page and just under 400 backlinks to the blog. Keep in mind this is a page I just put together last month as well. Unlike my one site which has around 3k backlinks per page. From a few months of doing the same exact thing as I do now. The other problem I am finding is that I am unable to find high pr forums and blogs within my niche to use for backlinking. The best one I have found is only a pr2.

I did find one that has a section pertaining to my niche. However that blog does not allow a sig file. I was fortunate enough to get one backlink from them though. This forum is a pr8 if I remember correctly. However the link is going to be removed from them very soon if it has not already. Which is also going to get it removed the next time that particular page is crawled. So I need to find other means to build quality backlinks from forums. I did some research on a few of the blogs I have been posting on. However the best pr I will get from one of those is a pr4. So it is making it rather difficult to find places other then aricle directories to get good pr backlinks to my site. Also since I no longer use EZA because of there spaming my email with 10 emails all at once and one bouncing they suspended my account. So I kinda went off on them so they removed my account.

Anyhow I mostly post to hubpages for most of my articles. This however if it is a dup post at all I need to make sure I do this first before I een submit it to my blog because of there strictness with duplicate content. I have been searching for a few other good article directories. Yet I would like to find one I do not have to be a member to this would make it easier for me to submit to. With out having to deal with the hassles I had to go through with eza. I do have an article submitter which seems to work really well but I try not to use that to place my articles because alot more places are picking up on people using these to build backlinks. Which would get me google slapped and I do not need that for a brand new site that is only a month old and generating anywhere from 50-300 visitors a day so far. Mostly from the backlinks at 3 different places. The site does drawl in some search engine traffic but untill I start getting some pr under this domain I wil continue to fluctute on and off of the search engines from sites with more pr.
