Hey Warriors, I have a Wordpress blog that uses All in One SEO pack. I've been scanning through my rankings, and noticed that the date the article was written is often at the beginning of the meta description, despite being no where to be seen in the backend. Does anyone know how to remove the date? I think its harming my CTR so want to get it sorted Cheers |

Have you tried searching and/or posting in the All in One SEO Pack Forum? I think you're more likely to find a quick answer there. Steve |

In the settings for the all in one you should be able to change how the your description is handled. I noticed mine did the same thing on a few of my post still but to eliminate that you can also enter in each description by hand instead of letting wordpress choose the main description. Also note that with crawlers like google which pull from the page vs pulling from the meta first if it finds the published date on the page it will automaticlly show it. Any how go into settings and change where it says description twards the bottom of the page and make sure it shows %description% and not %date%%description%

This article describes how to set up the All-in-one. Be sure to read through the comments because I've described in detail each setting to make: http://www.wealthydragon.com/blog/20...ne-seo-plugin/ Hope that helps! Cheers, Martin. |

I've read the article and comments and could see anywhere you answered this query. Do you know the answer? Quote:

Did you configure your All-in-One-SEO pack in line with the settings in the comments area and, if so, is the date still appearing..? Cheers, Martin. |

Hmm, yes - that's strange because the META description field is a free form field. I think the best answer would be to visit Michael Torbert's site and raise the question there. Here's this link: http://semperfiwebdesign.com/blog/al...be-configured/ Sorry I couldn't be more help, Cheers, Martin. |

I don't think its a problem with All in One SEO Plugin. Lots of people have this problem with WP and not all are using the All in One SEO Plugin. Best answer I've found relates to the date in the actual post. Solution is detailed here: dollarshower(dot)com/how-to-remove-date-stamp-from-google-serp-description/ Sorry about the (dot) in the link. I'm quite new in here. |
