Default Yahoo

Hello,

How can I get ranked in Yahoo? I need a simple guide on
ways to get listed in Yahoo Search Engine.

Please refer me to blogs or products that teach this.

Thanks

You can always try the old tried and tested method of getting listed into Y!

1. Simply open up your my.yahoo.com account (I assume you have one)
2. The at the top there is an option to "add new content"
click on that and then type in the url of the RSS feed (NOte the URL of the site's feed, not the sites' url)
3. My.Yahoo with then display the first 4or5 items from your feed, and then you are done.

Then Go to Pingoat.com and Pingomatic.com and ping your site. Then if you watch your sites stats, you'll find Yahoo's SLURP will be on your site within a few minutes. The rest of that is up to Y!

Hope this helps

Bruce

Hmm, I believe soon it will be safe to discard any thoughts of yahoo altogether, with it being replaced by bing.

This is very simple. In order to submit your websites link to the Yahoo Search Engine click on the ‘Suggest a Site’ link at the bottom of the page and then you will be redirected to a page to select the submission option. Click on Submit Your Site for Free and then fill in the required information on the next page. That’s it. You’re done. All you need to do now is to wait and have patience to get your webpage indexed by Yahoo!

Hi

Yahoo can be a real "pain in the @#$%" sometime. Some sites they just love and other seem to take forever to get indexed.

One thing that I have noticed that those sites that are the most HTML compliant get indexed faster.

Your sites has a bunch of errors on it :
check out :http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...idator%2F1.654

And see if fixing the errors help.
Also, try putting a blog on the back of the site (doesn't even have to show up on the main menu) and load it up with a bunch are articles from ezinearticles and Articlesbase and make the articles 'drip' out over the next month or so.
Of course make a link in every article to a page in your main site 9spread the links about, so that they are not all pointing to the home page), and let it rip.

Yahoo does like to index sites that that update often, so that may be another reason..

Sorry I can'r be more helpful, but maybe this will get you going..

Hi Bruce,

Those are really helpful ideas. But I have seen my competitors having aboput 100-120 errors and still get listed and ranked 2nd on yahoo. I dont think the issue could be with the errors.
I had started to post articles on goarticle.com around a week ago.
May I ask, what did you mean by "try putting a blog on the back of the site". Sorry, Im a bit newbie with the terms.

Thanks again

One of the things the Search Engines (SEs) really love is websites that get updted. They really dislike sites that go up one day and then never get updated ever again.

Thats why the SEs really live blogs and Web2.0 sites. they are constantly getting updated with new info.

I would suggest installing a wordpress blog into a subdirecitory on your website.
something like www.alliedantennas.com.au/blog/

And then copy articles from EZineArticles.com, SooperArticles, GoArticles etc and pase them into your blog. Post 1 article per post and then set each posts publish date to be some time into the future.

This will then automatically then publish the content for you well into the future. So if you loaded up 52 articles, and then set each one of them to be published at a rate of once per week, you would have 52 weeks (or 1 years) worth of content pre-loaded into the blog.
This approach will really get the SEs coming back over and over again,a dn then really index your main site. Of course each post should contain a link back to the main. site.

Does this help
