Best Tools for Finding Backlinks??

I've been reading in several posts , Warriors recommending to do your own baclinking instead of buying lists. But, seems no one wants to share their favorite backlinking tools. If anyone has any tools they have tried, sure would be appreciated. I've Google'd a few online but don't know which is best to invest in.

Dont mean to blow my own horn here but this is exactly what my wso covers!

But to make this post worthwile you can use the yahoo site explorer tool. Just change the url in the top to see what backlinks your competitors have and then copy them

I strongly suggest that you get Tom's WSO. I thought I knew it all and Tom taught me a new trick or two or three..

As far as tools go I use Fast Blog Finder... but it is not as useful as it could be because it only focuses on a few platforms.

I also use SEO Elite because it makes it quick to look at your competitors and then just click and see the type of links they are using to get their ranking.

But the ultimate tool is simply to find the sites in your niche and related to your niche that are already ranking high. And these high ranking sites may not be your competitors at all. They could be blogs, social sites, forums, etc. Then joining and participating in the discussion and working your way and site into the mix.

The bottom line is if you want customers you find where they want to be, then you put yourself there, then you add value to the experience. And you build your rep.
