Default Google Dance?

How long does your site usually drop to the back of the pack for?

Mine was on page 1 for a certain keyword, and has been missing for almost two weeks. It is still indexed in google, just not ranked.

Thanks,

Nick

Well I think they did it on the 7th August so where you are now is probably where you will stay.

Don't fret about it Nick.. Worrying about things that we have no control over is futile and a waste of time and energy. Just keep doing the right things, like good content and quality backlinks and your page will bounce right back up over time. There are a lot of data centres and they all change at various times so it could bounce back at any time.

I was listed 10th before starting my backlinking at all, now i'm not even within first 40 pages for the same keyword.

Hopefully it pops back up.

It is very true, I totally agreed with Steve. We should keep building links and sites, as well as good content; Your site will eventually get ranked, and rank well, just keep promoting your site and left the small details alone.

Nick:

One of my sites fell off the map two weeks ago, but as of yesterday afternoon it returned to the front page of Google (ranked several slots higher now, in fact). Check yours again.
