I have a page that was hanging out in the middle of Google page 2 for its keyword. It had been there for about a week. I had not been using Google Analytics, just too many things to do and it always got pushed to the bottom of the pile. So I got really tired of looking at Webalizer stats and added Google Analytics, and next day I'm sitting at position #5.
Coincidence? The site has good analytic metrics, average visit 9 minutes, 24% bounce rate etc. Could Google have used this additional information to boost the site's rank? |

No relation at all. I use Google Analytics on almost everything. I'd recommend it to everyone but the Google Paranoid.
You can't draw a conclusion form a single event in such a short period of time. Dig into Google Analytics for your site in a couple of weeks and then you'll start to see the information you need. If Google were boosting rankings on sites just because they choose to incorporate Google Product ... smart people would have figured this out and reported on it a long time ago. |

I agree w/ the above reply. I to have GA on my pages, and I haven't noticed a difference at all.

USER behavior effects serps. negative and positive. GA will give then that extra date they need. For better or worse.
Thats not saying if you dont have it, they cant get their data, because they still can |

I only use Google Analytics for all of my sites, and wouldn't use anything else. It has no bearing on your page rank.
Page ranks can go up and down you need to be on top of this all the time. For you to get to page rank 2 etc for a keyword someone else had to move down the rank. I like to call it the google dance. |

OK, I guess it was a coincidence. Thanks for your input.
That said, I was not suggesting that somehow Google was rewarding the use of Analytics, just that the increased quality information provided by Analytics would allow them to make a better quality judgement of a site, if they (ab)used the information, which apparently they don't. |
