Default Does ezinearticle stop ranking well after having many backlinks...

hi,

Does ezinearticle stop ranking well after having many backlinks...

i heard that if you have more than 2 backlinks to
original ezinearticle, the original ezinearticle may suffer
in rankings...is this true?

because i was planning on submitting to 200+
directories backlinking to 1) money site & 2) original ezinearticle

thanks
BJ

I don't know where you heard that but it is not true. I backlink to any article I have on EZA that gets a decent CTR and they're moving up. Some faster than others but they're going up in the rankings.

How easy would it be to get more than two links to a competitor to get them bumped off of the first page if that were true? I'm going to keep getting as many backlinks to my articles as it takes to get them all on page 1. Some are already there but I'm hungry for more.

You should spin your articles to other directories, else just stick with Ezinearticles and the list below:

1. Ezinearticles.com
2. Goarticles.com
3. ArticleDashboard.com
4. Searchwarp.com

Just get one article rank high for your targeted keyword, and focus on your content, should be able to get nice traffic!

That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. The more backlinks an article has, the higher it is going to rank. As long as they are authority backlinks.

Now, excessive 0-1 PageRank backlinks, paid links, social bookmarking links and link farm backlinks WILL hurt your rankings.

Where did you hear that?

So if I went and added your website to a link farm and thousands of low PR and social bookmarking sites, I could get you slapped and overtake your position? That would be time well spent by a serious competitor (with no integrity, of course).

I don't subscribe to the "get 60 gazillion links to your web page" club, but I do believe in the old addage that if someone can harm your rankings by performing malicious activity (like the previous paragraph), Google will not allow it to happen.

I think they may discount those links to some degree, but I don't believe they can actually HURT your rankings.

There will always be someone out there testing these scenarios. If word got out that what you say is true, chaos would ensue and Google would lose millions of dollars trying to clean up the mess.

JMO,

Allen Graves

Allen,

If a page is not well positioned, it can be destroyed.

I've seen it happen and it does work with articles as well. This is not something I've heard, it's something I've experienced, and I know exactly how it works.

I believe it was Andyhenry who mentioned something about this a few months ago, I didn't believe it neither until I saw it happen.

Malicious competitors can hurt you if they know what they're doing.

If I wanted to, and I had no integrity I could pull it off myself. But I rather spend my time in the growth of my own business and not in the destruction of others.

- Dan

P.S: Google is not almighty.

For instance, they penalize the selling and acquisition of paid links.

How on earth are they going to know it was your malicious competitor doing so for your site?

So is there a way to block this from happening to you that you know of?

My personal opinion - it should not, or at least I haven`t seen anything like this with my ezines.

Yes, well positioned pages seem to be immune, or at least extremely resistant.

Someone tried to do this to one of my sites which had several authority backlinks to it, high PR and solid SERP positions. It didn't work.

Either way, it's not common knowledge and it's not easy to pull off, so you shouldn't be worried about it. Otherwise it would be chaos like you said.

It's the new sites/pages that are vulnerable, but it's still extremely hard to pull off anyway.
