How to increase value of clicks?

My recent tirade in the blog was only partly tongue-in-cheek. I really do have a site that is converting OK but the clicks are almost all one or two cent clicks. I know more expensive ones are out there, I've had a dollar click on this site before. Is there anyway to improve the value of the clicks?

Yes - change niches.

Really, you cannot dictate what people will pay Google.

You may have been smart-priced by Google... Or, you can start writing more "in-depth" articles.Use only one main keyword per article, it makes it easier for Adsense to decide what ads to give you.

There is a technique out there. There is a code you place before a section of text on your website and then afterwards, which references to your adsense code, what it does is says to google, look at this text and base my adsense ads on the theme of this text. So then you control which types of ads come up. THEN the KEY is researching potential CPC's in the adwords estimator tool and focusing the theme of that text around keywords that are most expensive in adwords, therefore you should make more through adsense.
