Alternative Wordpress Footers...Good Idea or Bad?

Now that traditional page sculpting is dead, it seems that new measures need to be taken to find ways to control the flow of Page Rank through your site that don't include using the NoFollow attribute.

My understanding of this is that you need to have fewer "google readable" links on the page from the get-go. The two methods to accomplish this would seem to be a) removing links altogether and b)replace your traditional links with Javascript links.

As to removing links altogether, I thought it might make sense to make an alternative footer section on my WP sites for pages/posts that does not include any links. Only the home page would have links to things like Privacy Policy and Site Map.

What's your feelings on this?
