A nice surprise - new site indexed within days and ranked 3 in google for the title

This is a joint niche venture with myself and my wife. We bought the domain 12 days or so ago and have been building the site daily. We have used WP and I know google likes WP, but I guess I didn't realise just how much. Without doing anything but building the site(writing pages, posts, lots of customizing the theme etc) we are indexed in google and yahoo Not only that, but for the title of the site, we have gone straight in at number 3 in both The actual title isn't searched a great deal(around 500 per month) but it's still nice to rank so high for the term, especially as we haven't submitted it(either via sitemap or manually), created any backlinks or anything. The title is 3 words, and we're going after the first 2 words as our main keyword term(the 3rd word is 'online') to rank highly for.

I know to a lot of you seasoned IM's, this kind of thing probably isn't much of a big deal, but to me this is a great start for a site I hope is going to be very successful It's really nice to be recognised by the 2 big SE's without even trying This week we're really going to start promoting the site heavily, with lots of backlink building and articles. I'm not revealing the niche or site yet, but if things go well I hope to come on here in a few weeks/months and tell our success story, how we did it etc. Pretty much everything we have implemented came from the great advice and info right here at the Warrior Forum. Can't speak highly enough of this place, and hopefully in time I'll give back as much as I've received by being a member

I'm having luck with my wordpress blogs also. They are on or near the first page in google with no effort on my part other than building the blog and having my keywords on the blog and in the tags. My websites are no where to be found in google but my wordpress blogs are doing great.

This is awesome. I just made 2 more new sites and I keep checking google to see if they are there. Good to know it can happen so fast.

I've got quite a few local sites in the top 3 positions within 48 hours. Just need to pick your keywords carefully, get a keyword rich domain and do a few high pr backlinks! I tend to use wordpress as a base for the sites with an SEO plugin (for onsite SEO).
