Ciao everybody, I own an italian website (xxxx.it), the website will be ready in Oct and I'm working on the backlinks to increase the PR. The website is about "pizza delivery", local service to find who is delivering pizza in near your address/postal code. Most likely the user will go in Google and will write "Pizza a domicilio roma" (pizza delivery rome) to get all the restaurant delivering pizza in the area of rome. I want my website to be shown in the first page. The question is: How backlinks work now? As I want to be in the first page of google.it will Angela's backlink increase my traffic or should I spend my time/money building backlinks on the italian website's? Thanks for your help panduz |

I´m asking this myself. I make websites for the German language zone. And I tried to use links from English spoken websites. A blogger blog was on spot 36 and I made about 7 PR 4-5 blog comments on English language blogs. (PR 4-5 on the comment page, the domain was much higher) First my blog totally dissapeared and now its back on 90. I don´t believe I´m being penalized, this happens also with German language articles. I just have to wait what is happening. I also have other websites with, compared to my other backlinks, only a very small minority of English backlinks. These links do show up in my webmastertool account. Usually, since they are all high PR backlinks, on top of the link list. I´´m not sure about what these links are worth, but they don´t seem to do any damage. |

Thanks for your reply. Maybe that Angela's backlink are not doing any damage, but I don' want to spend 8 hours creating english backlinks that are not that important for the italian pagerank.... |

It weren´t Angela´s backlinks. But it´s true, I also do not want to spend hours for nothing. but one has to try what works. I´ve seen people giving away free WordPress Themes with their link in the footer. Lots of blogs, which used these themes, were in another language and these links are a large part of their total of backlinks and they rank high.

I think I would try a Google (and other search engines) for backlinks programmes using the Italian language.

Yes, Applying Angela's backlink is a plus point, However, if you can get links from some .it (italian) sites, that will help you more to become TOP#10 on your local listing(google.it) I had experienced that, I was on TOP # 10 on Goolge.com, but In my local google.ca I am on # 105. After that, I have got some links from ".ca" domains, then I have been listed on top # 5 on google.ca |

This is exactly the same question I have been having. I have a few websites in other languages. I think links from .it domains will carry more weight in that case.

"Most likely" You could always do the reseach to find out EXACTLY what phrases people use to find what you are offering. And you might want to do that first, because there is no point in doing a backlinking campaign until you know for sure. Miss it and all the backlinks in the world won't matter. |

Thanks to you all for the your replies. Well, it seems that Angela Backlinks are working even for an italian site. I did a test with another business of mine (a very small niche of "corporate soccer tournament") and I'm FIRST on both google.it and google.com. (try out: keyword: Tornei Aziendali business name: GOLEM Sport Agency) One week ago I was in the second page of the search results! "Pizza delivery" is a huge niche but I'll keep submitting the backlinks suggested by Angela as i'm still astonished by my first position. |

I think the very best thing you can do for yourself is register your business on google maps, and get your location listed. then, for most searches for pizza in and around your area, google will show the map, and highlight your business. If anyone lives in and around Rome, drop me a pm...might be good to chat (I live close to Rome now) |

There will be plenty of online business directories in Italy you can add your site to for free or at a cost. Also, take a look into Nick's Tap Into program; I'll be getting this shortly for myself. It will probably help you a lot. Analyse the backlinks for the top 10 results for your target keyword using Yahoo Site Explorer and see what Italian-site backlinks they possess. |

That's a great question. I have the same problem as I am from Europe too(non English speaking). To all who say it should be checked...i is hard as it take a lot of time for backlinks to work-at least in most cases. I would be happy if once for all we knew it .com baclinks work for every other wesbiet or only US/UK wesbites. |

hey there, could I share you an idea? I think, the best way to after a keyword is, the keyword itself. In your case, why dont you buy the exact keyword.com or .it Such as Pizzaadomicilioroma.com or Pizzaadomicilioroma.it Then, build a content as you like. I tried it myself with my local term, Pecah Beling I own pecahbeling.com In less then 2 weeks, I being on the top of that keyword in my country (Malaysia). Here how you can do that. 1. Buy a hosting from local company. If you want to dominate Italy, buy an Italy base hosting. 2. Build content first. Never worried about SEO and others, it will comes later on. Your visitor will be happy to visit a complete website than an 'under-construction' site 3. 'Web 2.0'ing your site (submit your site to web 2.0). Use youtube, make a viral funny video about 'Pizza a domicilio roma'. Digg the interesting articles from your site, etc 4. Do blog commenting on local blog. Start a competition, etc. I guess there are unlimited way to gain #1 on SE. Just keep your pace consistent.... Ok thats all; Regards; King Kamil |
