Thank all of you for a very informative thread. Main point of confusion for me, is what happens when you have more than one article/post etc on the web 2.0 site. Say you are going for the keyword "big dogs barking" and on another wheel maybe the keyword "Nebraska island cruises." Now because you like squidoo or hubpages or whatever, and use them for both wheels (I know you should vary the sites, but there will be some crossovers). Now there will be internal links to your profiles, if nothing else, if you rate high enough on Hubpages or Squidoo to get the do follow breaks these sites give if you are doing well. Now my question is, does that end up causing a link between the two wheels that leaks your link juice into Nebraska? Or another obvious example, your website will be linked to several wheels, and it would seem that would tend to close the loop on all those wheels, with your website being the tying link. Same with both wheels being bookmarked to your profile on Mixx or some other book marking site.. seems like the link closes all over the net...

Do link wheels still work and is it a valid strategy to pursue?

I appreciate the link wheel mode. I probably can outsource it, and get it done less than a month. Thanks a lot!

I highly advise that, before posting content to any Web 2.0 properties, that you are fully aware of their respective TOS and editorial guidelines....

One good way of interlinking the links in the wheel is having no link wheel link to the same link, or else it ends the wheel

wow i made a linkwheel last night. thought i worked so hard on it until i saw the HUGE linkwheel you make ursa. I will for sure try to do this for my site. one question though just want to be sure. the quality of the articles we put in web 2.0 properties dont have to be super good right? as long as the anchor text is ok were good. i know the article cant be garbage either.

Traffic comes from the articles (10 -13 articles) that are put on ten Web 2.0 websites, video sharing websites and organic searches.

How much traffic there is, depends on a niche, but once such a linkwheel has been created and all the properties start to rank higher and higher, it can go through the roof.

The articles are submitted both to Web 2.0 properties and article directories. I then make small linkwheels to these articles for them to rank high in the SERPS too. Usually there is a linkwheel created separately for the Web 2.0 properties and a linkwheel for the articles that are submitted to article directories.

Don't forget to submit articles to Scribd, it can rank high in Google fast these days.

Do you still use this strategy in 2011 after Panda update? Is it still effective as in 2009?

Your site ranking can go from 100+ to Page 1 in one month. Don't try my service or you will be hooked!

Xrumer or Scrapebox blasts cannot compare with this! This is one of the most powerful, effective and yet under-utilized link building technique for getting links from authority sites which can make Google fall madly in love with your website.

Thank you for this brilliant thread..Ive been using the following web2.0 sites without linking to articles submitted in article directories.I'll be working on this soon.
wordpress.com
weebly.com
wetpaint.com
quizilla.teennick.com
livejournal.com
thoughts.com
tumblr.com
zimbio.com
kiwibox.com

I've seen the link wheel has an instant impact on the SERP,the site ranks higher for those two days and then the effect declines and the rank drops. What can be done to maintain the effect.Though I ping and bookmark the links when the link wheel is done.

seems like lately more people are doing link pushes / pyramids instead of linkwheels or at least not close loop link wheels.

i would say that you need more 2nd tier link juice pointing at your 2st tier. ping + bookmarks arent enough. you need cheap links pointing at your articles on the web 2.0 sites.

That picture was in 2009 and the only real difference in 2011 is not interlinking the "spokes".

Sohel, what are the other 22?
