I am using FTS (Free Traffic System) provided by MustafaKamal.
It's great, working and saves my time. No more hassles and problems.
Outsource your backlink tedious work and you have time to find other business.

Yup, those are pretty much it. You can start building widgets depending on your website and build more links giving out the widgets.

There lots of underground link brokers who have tons of sites, you just have to scour the web, PICK UP THE PHONE and be proactive with it.

But to be honest, it really depends on the niche and what the project entails. If it's just a quicky, then yea, a quick blast to the article directories and web 2.0 sites and that's good enough. If it's a competitive space, then a specific plan of attack will need to happen.

Also, I've been happy with Backlinks.com. Call the 800 at SearchRankings.net - Chris is a good guy and they've got a decent setup going on there for REALLY competitive pricing.

RSS submission.. backlink your social bookmarking submissions and rss feeds. video submission (link in description). trackbacks, backlink blogs like 3stepads & organic-seo, usfreeads. Just throwing out some ideas i've used.

There are many techniques for link building and everything is worth to try.
Here is some list that i know:
1. Directory submission
2. Article submission
3. Forum posting
4. Blog commenting
5. Youtube comments
6. LinkWheel
7. Social Bookmarking
8. many more

You can build massive backlinks using the various methods so you can increase your website's rank and also traffic.

I believes the first step to do is do keyword and competition analyzing before start to build backlink. You must also optimize the on page SEO like meta description and content keywords. Website name helps in keyword also.
