Default First Ever PPC Campaign 4 adgroups averaging 5.94% ctr is this good?

Actually 3 I deleted a dog recently.

Started my first Adwords campaign after reading Perry Marshalls Adwords book (excellent read BTW)

I have 3 ad groups running right now averaging 6.56% 5.56% and 4.2% What is considered a good percentage that will help me get a lower bid price from G? I am going to let it run for a few more days before I weed out some of the lower performing keywords.. I have about 30 right now.

Also to further track conversions I have enabled tracking by routing my aff link through a redirect page (used no index and no follow on the redirect post and my affiliate links) so I could install the JS tracker from adwords into the redirect page to see how many of my paid clicks are actually getting to the offer.

I used the text 'directing to special low price offer' so they see that for 2 seconds before getting there. I did this to hopefully offset any concern about an obvious redirect?

I wish I could track all the way to the order page but thats not possible as far as I know (clickbank product)?

Am I going to have any issues with Google for using this approach? The page gets good organic traffic already and I don't want to mess anything up by doing a redirect that Google would frown on or something I might have missed...

Any possible problems doing this? It is a 301 redirect but with the noindex no follow tags that should not matter as I understand it.

I can't tell you for certain, it really depends on a lot of factors.

I set my target at double-digit CTR -- 10.00% or higher -- whenever possible. After much honing and tweaking, my best converting campaign is logging an Adwords CTR of well over 20% (28.32% for the past seven days, slightly lower than that for its entire history). My average position for that campaign has moved from #3/4 to #1 and I'm now paying almost 1/4 per click what I paid per click to start at launch.

NICE... That's what I am talking about... I have several keywords performing at or above 20% and will soon weed out the dogs but need a little more data before I make that call.

Optimization can make a lot of difference so I want to do this right. Wow 1/4 price, that is sweet.

I am hoping to get a subscription to PPC spy soon but need to make a little more scratch. All of my subscriptions really add up every month but I have heard good things...

I agree with what Steven has said.
In addition to that, the longer your campaign is running at this CTR, the cheaper your clicks will become. I had one campaign with a high CTR and the clicks got cheaper every week. Amazing!
It is well worth the effort to weed out those lower performers and keep your CTR high.
Good luck to you!
