Best article directories for backlinks?

Hi all,
I'm wondering which articles directories you prefer for getting backlinks? Also which do you feel provide the best 'boost' when it comes to backlinks, and how easy is it to get your articles approved/accepted in them?

I use GoArticles and think they are pretty good. I've submitted 13 articles to EZA, and all are still pending (some after over 8 days) - along with some other issues with them - so that's put me off EZA a bit.

Hence I'm wondering who else do you like/use, and do they require a manual review process or are submitted articles automatically accepted (like GoArticles)?

I like to use Amazines and ArticleDashboard. Amazines is almost automatic and ArticleDashboard usually takes 2-4 days.

I use ezeinarticles.com they used to be very fast for approving articles however now can take anything up to 10 days if I remember right

Ezinearticles is hands down the best followed by GoArticles. Google loves Ezinearticles. It has the highest pagerank and alexa traffic rankings. I love it too. It should be the first article directory you post your article too if doing it manually. However, when submitting articles, I just use Easy Push Button Traffic. It's an awesome service by one of Internet Marketing greats.

Alexa, means nothing and if you are betting your business on alexa rankings then I feel sorry for you because you are missing out big time on sites that actually could make you money....

I get twice the amount of views and click thrus from EZA as I do from the other guys. I even have two of my EZA's in the first page. GoArt article is page 3 in google.

I always recommend submiting to EZA first, wait for it to get accepted and then post it on others. EZA rules for me

Ok well I will bite.... Let's get a few things straight for the 1,000th time..

1. Google does not control the internet and Google is NOT the only search engine. There is NO Google "Slap" this is a myth! and a proven Myth at that ...

2. Article Marketing is way more about just getting backlinks, some of us actually makes money from articles that are posted on other sites and not search engines..

3. Article Marketing will never be dead, articles are nothing more than content, news, newsletters, sales pages, and etc.. Anyway you want to put it, it is just content. No site will ever be punished for having content...

4. Article Marketing has nothing to do with "spam", do you understand what "spam" is ????

This is for all those that post EZA is the best ....

* When is the last time EZA personally advertised your article url ? Matter fact when is the last time any article directory you have mentioned thus far advertise your article url ??? I am not talking about them advertising their own article directory but the owner actually advertising your very own article....

Articlesbase.com is pretty good. Fast approval, and good pagerank. I get a decent amount of direct traffic through articles written there as well.

So you think Google will prefer someone who will use SENuke to spam blogs and create hundreds of totally unrelated forum accounts over a person who is going to write an article to get a backlink?

BTW: Article marketing is nothing new. It has been around for decades. Get some issues of old magazines and see how article marketing has been used in the offline world.

Are you speaking from experience or theory?

I've submitted EZA articles for other articles directories after EZA approval and my account is still alive and well.

You'll get better results by changing the headline. But it's not going to suspend your account. If it did I would've taken my competitors articles and spammed everywhere. It doesn't happen.

GoArticles is a great place to post articles, as they still haven't implemented the nofollow tag on links. Ezinearticles is ok, but I find them to be a bit too strict in their guidelines and if you don't get it right the first time, you're looking at a lot of time rewriting and all of that. GoArticles is my favorite, Buzzle is good too.

If you are using article marketing for backlinks only, I think that's folly, especially if you are just going to submit to ezinearticles and a couple others only and think they give you great "link juice" for that one link (ha ha ha, ridiculous). But there are ways to get a huge amount of backlinks up with article marketing. One way is to find automatic software that can help you post your article to tens or hundreds or article directories in an hour or less, or better yet, with the click of a button.

Not so. I put an article on my site first, then I submit the exact same article (same title and all) to EZA and to at least 10 other directories. I have a couple hundred EZA articles that I did this with, and I've never had any problem whatsoever with any of them. EZA is only concerned that the article is original to *you* - that you wrote it/own it. If you submit an article and they find it on the web under another name, they'll reject it (but if you can prove that you are indeed the original author, they go ahead and publish it).

I believe google and duplicate content are not buddies. Wouldn't this be duplicate content then if hundreds of sites got the same article?

I know you can spin articles with some software. I have always wondered if article spinners were any good. I tried one once and the result was a poor quality article with poor grammar (which is what put me off the idea) but since software has changed I was hoping to find a reliable one. Any suggestions?

I do not see article marketing to die any time soon if ever. The concept of article marketing is so simple yet so effective and can be used for promote and market something in so many different ways. Article marketing can evolve and change but it will be here for a long time.

So far all i have used is ezinearticles and articlebase. Ezine has given me a CTR of about 25% which i'm very happy with, although obvioulsy i would like to see this increase but i'm waiting to analise the stats after a little more and work on article topics that will give me a higer CTR.

I don't use them just for backlinks and in fact i haven't had a single backlink from EZA show up in yahoo explorer yet, its been about a month now but its worth it for the traffic.

Now my articles have been up on EZA and AB i shall post them to other articles directories, i'll take on the advice about changing the title!

You just need to use them all... Don't short side yourself by using just 1 or 2 article directories. Post your articles everywhere, if at all possible.

Such as, article directories, websites, blogs, forums, ezines and so-on.

I personally mass distribute my articles to everywhere possible on the net. I get plenty of traffic, along with backlinks and I even climb the SERPs for my targeted keywords.

I use Isnare, and I have used a few others. Does anyone know if Isnare is really as great as it claims? They mention that they send the articles out to over 1,000 places, etc. I dont have that many backlinks to any of the sites that I have done that with. I do have my isnare articles showing on Page 1 for a few local keywords.

I do use articlebase,that is my favourite as they syndicate my articles to other sites for backlinks,although the AB link are no-follow.Next is EZA,although they are strict,rejecting so many articles for so many negligible reasons.I am getting all day traffic from a single article in EZA.Next is goarticles,fast and dofollow.

By far, Ezinearticles is driving the most direct traffic to my money site. PRLog.org and Sooperarticles come in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

(I know PRLog isn't an article directory, but hell, it might as well be. That's what everyone is using it for, anyway.)

For: (1) widening the exposure of my backlinks, business and relevant site content to a wider percentage of my target audience to establish myself as a friendly expert source of useful info/advice/content/products/services relevant to their needs and problems as well as for (2) improving the Google PR of my site and its content pages, I: Go with heavily trafficked dofollow article directories with the highest domain authority, the highest Google PR and the lowest Alexa Rank (not much for Alexa Rank). I also go with nofollow article directories if it is constantly visited by a lot of viewers included in my target audience since this is a chance to funnel that traffic volume from those article directories to my site and content pages. Well, EZA would be there, followed by GoArticles, ArticleSnatch, ArticleRich, ArticleDashboard and IdeaMarketers (due to my niche). Though if I were someone who believed number of backlinks built across a diverse number of article directories in a calculated period of time which would appear natural would be best for the search engine rankings of my site and its content pages, then I'd go for the top 50 or so article directories, with "top" being those that are dofollow, heavily trafficked, with the highest domain authority, the highest Google PR and the lowest Alexa Rank. I'd also consider the top 10 or so nofollow article directories that are heavily trafficked and the most relevant to my niche and topics.
