Hi, I hear everyone saying the importance of tracking stats down to the keyword level. However in the "real world" I guess I have no idea how this is accomplished. EVeryone justs says "oh use Google analytics and other google tools." I check out the tools but am at a loss how to apply them to yield practical, decision-making data. Maybe I'm over-complicating this? Here's my objective... - I have my own products and own website, landing page etc. - I want to be able to determine what keyword is generating which lead. Currently I am driving PPC traffic to a landing page and I only have aweber stat showing someone became a lead or not. I have no idea who is coming to the page and NOT becoming a lead. Is anyone familiar with some easy to understand video tutorials that teach this sort of thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated |

if you have google analytics installed on your site you do the following to find the keyword level. on the dashboard for the site you will have a menu that reads dashboard, visitors, trafic sources. click on trafic cources then below the graph and pie chart on the right hand side of the main box there will be a list of keywords nad how many people have visited through them! to track orders down to the keyword level you need to set up goal conversions! Depending on the payment system you use you can finf the payment system id and track orders down! say you use worldpay the id is wpresult, so you type wp result into a top content search and a list of page views containing this will appear which you can track to keywords and search engines

Thank you for the help! Question: Do you know of any good video tutorials (or article) showing how to use goal conversions? I am really unclear how to set this up from your description but if I could watch someone doing this it would be super easy. Thanks again |

To set up conversion tracking, you need to go into tools on your Adwords account and select conversion tracking. Create the code and place it on the final page of the process you want to track. | |
