AdSence on design portfolio

Do you guys think it's really nexessary to put AdSence ads on a graphic design portfolio, i cannot link you to my site at the moment because i havent finished designing it, and the decison i make about the ads will change the layout alltogether.
I just wanted to know, would i make any money through AdSence on a design portfolio fillied with my past work, the only people i imagine that would go on it would be people i direct to the site to take alook at my previous work so they can hire me if they like them.
Personally i dont see much point of adding AdSence to it because i doubt i would get any clicks, but you guys know more than me, so could you please tell me your thoughts.
