I'd like to change a clients website URL without transferring any files? Is this possible.. Can I set up a second domain (The name I would like it to be) and somehow get it to redirect to the 2nd domain but still show the first domains address... Maybe an IFrame? I'm a noob here never done this before need help ASAP. My client needs this done ASAP and id appreciate any help. |

Hi jitterbug978, How you would go about it depends on which platform you the website is currently hosted upon and the available options included with the hosting package. After you register the domain you need to update the name servers at your registrar to point to the ip address or host name servers. Depending on your host control panel you will need to add the domain name as an additional domain pointing at the same website. As I said, the exact procedures vary depending on your hosting platform, control panel and available package options. You need to contact your host and ask for these procedures. Most will have a FAQ or Knowledgebase that answers these questions. |
