squidoo worthless for backlinks?

I just created a new lens and dropped my article in there and tried to link it back to my main article, but all that happens when I publish is I get a link that is not clickable, its blue and is underlined when you mouse over but you can not click it???

They put like 4 hyperlink ads threw out my article so my question is, is squidoo worthless for backlinks or am I doing something wrong here?

You most definitely can put backlinks on your squidoo. Can you give me your site so I can check it out for you. If you would like I may be able to show you how.

Do you mean in seo terms? I would say it counts for A back link...i don't think you would get a huge boost in the serps off it but im sure it couldn't hurt you.

ive had no problem building backlinks off of my squidoo lenses. squidoo is what i used to use almost exclusively as my first place to go for my back links.

my planned solution is to Outsource to the Philippines

The main problem with squidoo: It does work like a charm regarding backlinks.

BUT: For keywords that are really desirable, there is fierce competition.

Some guys have nothing better to do than report your site as spammy and off the board you go. I suggest that you invest your time into more reliable things. (for example articles on ezinearticles.com, articlebase.com, goarticles.com or other properties similar to squidoo, but not as well known yet).
