I have a blog with about 119 pages/posts of legitimate original content. I was using auction2post on a subdomain of this blog. By mistake I left it on automatic scheduling for a few days at a rate of 1 hour instead of 24 hours. So there ended up being almost 4000 ebay auctions/bins posted on the site. I finally noticed it and shut down the automation. But seeing how many visits I was getting from long tail keywords, I decided to act cute and leave them up there. Before this I was ranking top 20 for about 7 important keywords. I just noticed all of them are in the 50-70 range now. Is this just google dancing? Did google penalize me? Is this just a ratio of content playing a factor in my rankings (the ebay auctions were related to my sites niche, but not necessarily the keywords I was ranking for)? I've since deleted all of the posts. I want my old rankings back! Any input would be greatly appreciated. |

This is most likely google dancing. I suggest that you wait a day or two and see what happens. But most likely your pages will be back. One thing that you can do: build some backlinks to the internal pages. There is a free plugin for WP that you can use for that. |

Just bumping this because I recently resolved this problem. Apparently it WAS a google penalty. I went into google webmaster tools and filed for a site reconsideration. They haven't responded to my request yet, but it is OBVIOUS that they have removed the penalty from me. My SE traffic has risen almost tenfold in the last couple days. Thank you Google. |
