Default Pass PR and link popularity

A few of questions:

1) What is the best way to pass PR and link popularity from a domain to another? 301 redirect?
2) If the needs change and you have to redirect again (a temporary redirect) would have the same effects on PR and link pop?
3) Can a 301 redirect work when redirecting to an internal page? I.e.: URL1 would redirect to URL2/folder/page.html
4) If not then what would be the best way to pass PR and link pop juice to an internal page?

Thanks !!!

Hi cehai,
  1. Yes, 301 Redirect.
  2. No, but you can always update your redirects
  3. Yes.
  4. 301 Redirect will work, but you can pass PR to internal pages just by linking to them from other pages that have PR, redirects aren't necessary unless you are removing the previous URL.

Why would you want to do all that? Is your original domain useless and that is why you want to pass all PR and link popularity to the other domain?

Because I am purchasing the domain and the topic relates to a folder of my site not the homepage.

i.e.:

URL1 (topic: dog food - for example)
URL 2 (general topic: dogs) Specific topic: URL2/dog food/

Hope this makes sense
